Shocker, reporting isn’t 100% accurate during an unprecedented pandemic!

There’s a bit of difference between miscounting a few cases here and there and a nearly 90% difference in positivity rate.

Naw. I think legitimate cases where the cause of death wasnt really covid is prob 5-10%

Now the number of people that had significant underlying issues that would have died from something other than covid in next year or 2 may be 50-75%.

Anyone know where numbers are for number of overall deaths at this point in 2020 compared to overall deaths at this point in 2019? That's all I'm really interested in, are more people dying than normal because of the rona, or is it the same as most years?

Who is surprised by this when they are incintivized to do this shite?

Please explain what is the incentive received by anyone from an error in reporting an error in the number of positive cases. Its not like someone is paying money per positive case.

It's funny how all these "mistakes" make shite look worse.

Quite the coincidence.

Someone posted a figure earlier but I think the US was up close to 100,000 to last year. I do not have the link so do not shoot the messenger

You have to be willing to dive into political conspiracies but a lot of people in government positions want the economy shut down.

Did they miscount cases?

Labs that pull this should have their accreditation pulled asap.

This is my shocked face.

No, really, I'm completely floored.

Seriously, totally caught off guard with this.

I initially assumed the 100% accurate rate was because they are required to immediately report all positives but not so with negatives, but it’s looking like this isn’t an overwhelmed reporting system, rather a completely inaccurate and inadequate reporting system at best and a corrupt system at worst

Don't forget that this has come out the week after Florida had "Shattered daily Covid-19 case records" and had the worst week of any state in the country.

Every news agency from local to international was covering it. Yet, we now have this report. This doesn't do anything for those who distrust the word of "experts".

The attached link is the Florida report for today, it is quite long. The pages at the end show a breakdown of each lab reporting cases to FL DOH. No lab that has performed over a 1000 test reports positive rates of any where close to 100%.

FL DOH Daily

A vast majority of the labs reporting high positive rates have performed 100 or fewer tests.

What's a high positive rate? 59 sites between 100-1000 tests had a rate over 30%. That's potentially thousands of falsely reported positives.

Okay, not really on topic to what I was inquiring about, but a legitimate answer nonetheless as political conspiracies, no matter how asinine, tend to rule this website.

I was wondering and questioning the poster PublicPrivate on how the labs are incentivized to "over-report" positive cases. And more importantly what were the incentives paid to the labs for this "over-reporting".

Look at the daily report that I linked above, I would fathom to guess that the listed labs that have high positive percentages account for less than 2% of positive cases.

Well over 2.5 million tests have been done, if they are off by 2% that's 50,000. There's 282,000 confirmed cases. So that's quite a lot. I realize that's not what you are saying, but you are assuming all of other data is correct.

I'm not convinced we know shite about the cases here in Florida or anywhere.

Positive cases, not total tests. Redo your math.

You are still assuming that they didn't report negatives (or total tests) and not just screwed up the reporting of % positive.

Nothing has been shown either way on this.

Sheesh, things popped off here.

Reporting 100% positive should raise a lot of eyebrows.

This was the point. If you [general] thought this was accurate, I apologize, but gee whiz.
