Nah, its the speeders who weave around them.
Blaming left lane riders is like blaming guns for violence.

No.

It’s the ones IMPEDING THE FLOW causing the issues, not speeding. The Interstate System in the US was engineered to be safely driven at 85mph (and that’s using 1960 car safety standards!).

German drivers all are familiar with a saying...”respect the lane”, meaning the left lane, because if they don’t, they can get hit by something going 200mph, so they learn to respect the passing lane.

Here, half the dumbassas on the road don’t even know what “passing lane” means. We have a very dumb population, and it’s getting worse.

No it’s not - quit making stuff up. Reckless driving doesn’t even rank in top 3

Bunch of soy filled drivers in here that probably can't check their own oil. I hope they let their wives do the driving.

Was this in the northbound or the southbound lanes?

Northbound
A vehicle hydroplaned on the bridge during a rainstorm. Rain from Claudette.
I've been saying this, although I have no verification other than looking at the overhead drone photo, that I think the vehicle that hydroplaned was in the left lane and it bumped the side of the bridge then hit vehicles in the adjacent lane.
Had this bridge been wider with a shoulder, this horrific wreck may not have turned out like it did.

People lose focus on 65 between Mobile and Montgomery. It’s one of the worst, most boring interstate drives in the country. Nothing but trees for two and a half hours.

This. I drive it all the time and it’s really easy to just shut your brain off. Feels like there is always an accident around Greenville during the Summer.

Northbound confirmed as the bus with all the children was returning from a week at the beach.
Two 18 wheelers were involved.
They don't have a count on the number injured.

The drive on I-10 from Jacksonville to Pensacola says hold my beer. Brutal, boring 5+ hrs of pine trees, all flat.

Drove that stretch last Sunday and there was 8 or 9 cars that had little pile up on one of those little bridges just north of Greenville near where this occurred. It was packed with people headed north from the beach and as traffic backed up and slowed down to a near stop I was watching my rearview especially close waiting on some idiot not paying attention to nail me or the person behind me going 85 mph and slow to realize traffic was stopped.

As others have said, that stretch is easy to let your mind wander and easy to fall into a trance like state where you're kind of on autopilot where you aren't aware of your surroundings.

I-10 isn’t bad east of I-75 once you know you’re close to Jacksonville. The peak of brutal I-10 in the panhandle is from Pensacola to Tallahassee. It’s the exact same drive as I-65. Flat and trees lining the road for about 3 hours.

No, it's not.

Cruising in the left lane is against the law. That doesn't mean faster drivers should lose their minds over it and ride the bumper of a slow left lane driver or swerve recklessly between lanes and make an accident more likely, but the frustration is caused by someone operating a vehicle illegally.

Interstate travel would be much better if everyone on the road used the left and right lanes for their intended purpose and maintained awareness of all vehicles around them, including behind them. You can identify a faster vehicle behind you long before it reaches your back bumper.

Give me elevation changes and an open view all day over the horrible flat, tree lined drives of the southeast. I love driving out west.

Drive I-40 all the way across Oklahoma, then get back with me. Nothing but wheat fields and oil wells for 400 miles, and flat as a pool table.

Better than trees. Like I said in the last post give me an open view over trees any day.

And the other half gets mad when passing lanes are being used to pass but just not passing at speeds fast enough for them. Even when slower driver decides to try and fit into small opening in right lane it often first has to match speed of right lane the aggressive car will ride their arse or even try to make maneuver themselves not paying attention that car in front was trying to go right.

I don’t go 85+ but on I20 and I10 I go fast enough to often pass groups of tightly packed vehicles including 18 wheelers (especially on some the hills on I20 in east Texas). If i come up on someone passing several vehicles slower than I am driving I don’t expect them to be unsafe getting right, but i am amazed each trip at some of the people that think passing has to happen at their speed or it’s not proper use of passing lane, get aggressive, and make some very unexpected choices that other drivers have to adjust for which is not always possible.

You forgot that after the 5 to 6 foot shoulder to get off the main road most of this stretch drops about 10 feet or more right into the Pine trees. If you are Sleepy do not attempt.
