We obviously have systemic sexism in the home building and mortgage industry.

We need a Rooney Rule, homebuilders and realtors must offer a home to three single men before they can offer to sell it to a single woman.

Eh, there's other ways to build wealth without the stress of owning and maintaining a home. Some people simply don't want to deal with it.
I can understand that to a degree. Being responsible for everything can be somewhat stressful.
That being said, everything that you put into yiur house is increasing its value for when you sell it plus you’re building equity. You also don’t have to worry about rent going up every year

Increasing the value for who? It only increases as long as there are people demanding to buy it. I have a feeling home ownership is not only going to be less popular in the future, but the political sphere will do everything they can to stifle it (you will live in the POD, you will eat the bugs). Whether that's under the guise of "climate change", or "equity", or whatever.

Millennials are already going to be later life homeowners...at best, and Gen Z will always be stuck behind the millennials like Gen X has been stuck behind boomers in their careers.

People still act like the economy is going to be like it was post WW2 forever. That era is already over.

I'm paying 3 mortgages right now. Single no kids. Was married and divorced, and received nothing when we split. We each walked away with our own debts and possessions. I can thank my parents though for loaning me my first down payment. Didn't finish college until 40 so I bought the first one before I was "educated". Hmm what other stereotypes can I dispel?

How many of the single women are divorced and "own" the house their now poor ex-husband "single man" had paid for?

Ill be honest, being a single man i have no use to go purchase a house.

First, i dont need the extra bedrooms and people arent really building and selling one bedroom homes.

Second, i can pretty much just up and go if i dont like the place or area.

building wealth than just paying some landlord $1500 a month

Explain to me like I’m 5, because when you factor in interest, property tax, insurance, and upkeep, I’m barely building $300 in actual equity a month. Sure it’s still equity, but $300 is definitely worth the freedom of mobility and no commitment. Most people under 35 aren’t buying some really nice home, it’s a bs DR Horton POS and will be a money pit.

ok.

People said the same thing during the 2008 economic crisis and we see how that turned out

That's not the same. Millennials were the next cohort that was going to buy, but now we're at that stage and the Millennials still aren't have a ton of success getting into home ownership.

As I stated, Gen Z is smaller than the millennials, and Gen alpha is very likely to be smaller than Gen Z.

The value of a home is based on the number of people who want to buy it, and if the population cohorts below the current homeowners continue to grow smaller then...you do the math.

On the plus side, more single men are in prison than single women.

Depends. Houses are huge liabilities as well as assets especially if you live somewhere with significant property taxes.

A single guy might be better off paying rent in a one bedroom apartment as opposed to a mortgage payment on a 3/2 home. Put the excess in an index fund and you're probably better off than the guy with the 8K annual property tax obligation.

absolutely it is.

yeah because they don’t save up enough money and put themselves in debt with credit cards while buying a car with a $500 monthly payment because they want to look good in front of their friends. They could afford a nicer home if they had a little bit of discipline

This is perfectly reflected in how divorces typically occur. Man gets kicked out on his arse, woman keeps the house and the kids.

Facts.
Its time for the family court system to truly give women equal treatment in divorces. 50% shared custody, mandated in law. The only deviation is via proven, legit child neglect, endangerment or abuse. Not false claims.
Lets step up to true equality and equity.
Won't someone think of the kids.

There would be a whole lot less divorces and "strong independent" women on dating sites without the lucrative child support racket.
