I bet they didn’t think they would be in this situation. Fry them

I'll take things that are not surprising for $200

Old story and the girl is hot

And this is why people don’t donate. There is no way to confirm if these are real

I don’t get why they are getting charged for other people being retarded
Maybe Good morning America and the like should vet their sob stories before pimping their go fund me

The girl could get it

And they would’ve gotten away with it if the homeless dude wasn’t crazy. Made $400k, they gave him $70k and he ran to the press/lawyered up which now blew the whole scam up.
Idiots

Most of these are fraud. Takes a dumb arse to give money to go fund me.
KBF is the biggest fraud of all go fund mes.

If they wouldn't have been greedy they probably would have gotten away with it. Glad they screwed themselves.

What a shitty article. The only new info is this vague arse shite:
The rest is just a rehash of old info.

But investigators said the three deliberately prevented donors from gaining information "that would affect their judgment about solicited contribution to that fundraising effort," according to the station. Now they will face charges including conspiracy and theft by deception, a source familiar with the case told NBC 10.

I think the first paragraph has a lot of new info, specifically, the fact that this was made up from the jump.
I know many people were suspect of this whole thing from the start, but now it appears that it was indeed all a scam.
For a little while, I did think, maybe, this started off as a real attempt to help the guy, but once the cash started rolling in, they got corrupted.
Now I wonder if the homeless guy really is even homeless. Or is that BS too?

A New Jersey couple and a homeless Philadelphia man who were once the symbol of generosity in hard times allegedly conspired with each other to come up with a false story to earn GoFundMe donations and will now face charges, according to a complaint obtained by NBC 10 Philadelphia.

Yeah, I'm curious as to how "in on it" the homeless guy was.

I've only "given" to one, and not directly. A young child was killed in a crash. The driver was here illegally, no license, no insurance. The family of the deceased child had a go fund me set up by someone in order to help pay final costs. I checked some things, clearly the kid did die and the family of the child did appear to be pretty poor. However, I wrote the check and hand-delivered it directly to the funeral home and asked that it be applied to their bill, which they were happy to do.

It almost seems like the original story was true. I don’t see where they ever say the original story was false.
Maybe there was something done with the go fund me further down the line that they are calling fraudulent.

It says nothing about it. Just a vague overview. No details at all.

He appears to have been "in on it" enough to at least be charged.
If he was truly homeless / disabled vet / mental handicap, etc - he may have had enough mental facilities to know he was going to get paid (or out of the cold at least) but perhaps not enough to fully understand what was happening.
I am hung up on, by suing the couple, he had to know the whole thing was going to blow up and he would go down with it. Maybe he just wanted to see the couple burn and decided it was worth it even if he went down too?
