A former tooth powder warehouse in San Francisco is now a $5.5 million home partially made of shipping containers — see inside

quote:

A San Francisco home on the market has some unusual details. Industrial buildings turned into lofts aren't exactly unheard of, but the former laundry and tooth powder warehouse is now a luxurious home with two refurbished shipping containers inside of it.

The house has other amenities too, including a home theater, a two car garage, 11-foot ceilings, and a fully updated roof deck.

2230 Bush Street is listed with Annie Williams of Sotheby's International Real Estate for $5.5 million.

The 3,600 square foot home is in the Pacific Heights and Fillmore District neighborhoods of San Francisco.

I'm sure the land and location has a lot to do with it as well

I've always wanted to live in a hospital waiting room.

That’s one of those houses that look good in pictures and would be fun to party in but would probably not feel great to live in compared to something more traditional.

That has rich bachelor pad written all over it though.

ETA: there’s also a buck head barely in frame above the fire place. You sure this is in San Francisco?

This is a lot better than buying a piece of land located 30 miles from SF for 2 million, only to have to demolish the structure and rebuild.

Looks like an abandoned warehouse that they painted and staged to sell as a condo for $5 million

I’d feel like Jared in the episode of Silicon Valley where he’s trapped in the car in the shipping container.

That seems claustrophobic

Pretty awesome, but it’s not a rustic hunting camp so the baws here don’t like it.

As far as San Fran goes, it’s a pretty solid location. Not my favorite neighborhood, but uphill and far enough from market to avoid the worst of the bums. You do get some gutter punk homeless near the park, but shouldn’t be terrible there. Throw in the outdoor space which is hard to come by and I don’t think it’s unreasonable given the market

That doesn’t look like a functional design, someone is going to remove those containers sooner rather than later.

Not in the worst offender for poops but San Fran is the mecca for which all other cities should be judged so what do us knuckle-dragging neanderthals know about good neighborhoods?
