They won't though.

I've personally waited 3 hours after a car wreck for police to show up. When the EBR Sheriff's deputy showed up, finally, he said he was at the BRPD station for over 2 hours arguing with a couple officers about whose jurisdiction it was, because none of them wanted the paperwork. Then he laughed.

Also, how quick does BRPD work something like this?
Did it involve a brake tag or a dog?

That's their choice. OP, video/record your conversations, whatever it takes. Paying for services LIKE insurance and public works is a choice THEY don't allow us to make. We have to pony up. frick em.

I found a tag in the street while walking my dog. Called the tax assessor's office and told them it was probably one of my neighbors tag and I would like to return it to them. The girl ask me the tag # and gave me the persons name and address. (this was in MS)

Run a CarFax on the plate. It will show you name and address of the car owner.

There used to be a site called publicdata.com that gave you access to any pu pic database. You could look up driving records, criminal records, vehicle info, etc... Not sure what a sub costs but it may be worth it.

Was hit and run while sitting at a red light at night, called 911 right away, a-hole drove off.

We began pursuing while talking to operator, took license plate (had front/back), described the driver, model/make of car, and even a significant dent already on the car.

Operator told us to not pursue for our safety and a cop would be dispatched. Waited over an hour. No cop, went straight to the local district.

Filed the report, was told it would be an easy case, and it would be 2-3 weeks. They went to the house, was told "nope nobody here drives the car by that description" and was told SOL bro.

welcome to Louisiana.

I was in a hit and run many years ago leaving a Saints game, we chased the guy and called 911, we got the plate no. Our insurance company gave us the guy's name and address. We contacted him directly and he paid us cash for the repairs. He was emabarrased and sorry. He said he didnt want to get DWI so he took off.

I had absolutely no trust for the party I was in an accident with. Out of date insurance cards, sketchy AF, etc.

I've been sued after a car accident by a guy that had absolutely nothing wrong. I'm calling the police no matter what after a wreck from now on. I won't trust anybody.

If it isn't brake tag or checkpoint related the brpd won't do anything.
