The inverse is equally true of that statement.

Probably the most intimidating 5'5" man ever to live.
When the three "giants" of world leadership met in Potsdam, Truman, Stalin, and Churchill, Truman was the only one to reach 5'7".

Another tidbit-Stalin's daughter lived and died in a small town in Wisconsin.

How are you defining this? The Constitution had no single author. It was written by a convention presided over by George Washington who was 6' tall.

Joe Stalin also robbed banks before the Revolution.

Also Napoleon, Attila the Hun, Alexander the Great, and Genghis Kahn were all small men and kicked serious arse.
Only guys like Mansa Musa and Porus of India were legit tall dudes.

I wonder what the average height was back then? I know the uniforms at the D Day museum all look really small by today's standards.

I recall reading that the average soldier was around 5'7" and 150 pounds. In that ballpark anyway.

That sounds about right from the unis I've seen.

I thought Churchill was taller than 5’6. Gives hope to me.

Not shocking to see how this thread seems to excite the Sabanistas.

I think Hitler started off stronger, but lost it as time went on. I'm no expert, but from the television programs I've seen I think drugs and illness took a big toll on his faculties.
Stalin hit a real low point when the Germans invaded. Seems I remember even reading or watching that he even secluded himself for a time when things were bleakest.
I think one difference is that Stalin was smart enough to rely on his top generals and such, while Hitler got to the point where he thought he knew better than his generals. Of course, I think Stalin purged some of them afterwards for fear they were too popular, but he used them when he needed them.
