Is it fair to say that some of the highest paid employees and/or those with fancier job titles are often times some of the most lazy or incompetent? I see this a lot not in my own job but through some of the people for whom I provide service.

I see it mostly in highly beaurocratic workplaces.

They typically do more than you think

You don't realize it until you're there

They appear lazy, but in reality it takes them 1/5 of the time to do the same task as a lower paid employee.

What do you consider lazy? Could it be that they've put in their years of hard work to earn that management role so now have the luxury of delegating the small stuff out to lower staff?

Also you may think they just sit around and do nothing, but who do you think is going to catch all the blame if shite hits the fan? It aint gonna be the folks on the bottom rung.

I completely understand where you are coming from bro. There's a manager where I work that literally falls asleep right at his desk. It looks so bad when you escort customers and visitors down the hall and pass by his desk and see his head down near laying on the keyboard or his head cocked back in his chair with his mouth wide open. This guy must have some dirt on somebody high up in the company not have gotten fired yet.

It's a pretty good rule of thumb, "the harder you work the less you make".

Not sure if it's lazy but there's some high paid people that I wonder how in the world they got to be in their position or make that much money..

The director where I was last responded to my raise request with, "I can't give a guy I drink coffee with six hours a day a 100% raise."

I left a month later.

Now, six months after, I got a call the other night begging me to come back. For more than I was asking.

I may have drank coffee for six hours a day. But I did more in two than five people would do a day.

All about time management. I had four monitors and two pcs for a reason.

Subordinates don't understand what those above them do.

I don't know what field you are in.

But in mine, people who bust their arse for the first 20 years, and I mean bust it (80+ hour weeks constantly) make the most money near the end of their career and they don't have to work nearly as hard anymore. Most can coast and make 400k easily. The ones who bitch about those "lazy" high paid employees are usually the ones that think that working 50 hours a week is "busting your arse"

But that's just my industry. I'm sure every field is different.

I think the highest paid are usually the ones that don't go around with a negative attitude. People with poor attitudes usually don't reach their full potential.

They might not do they work you are doing, but they are usually "putting out fires", keeping order and dealing with bullshite that goes beyond what you simpletons can handle.

Of course there will be outliers but you're incorrect when looking at the vast majority. Most of the guys you see being "lazy" are because they've earned it over years and years of experience. You can't graduate college and get that position.
