they didn't catch the "rapist" and it seems like they be able to press charges because she wouldn't say she was raped.

and why didn't her husband or one of the 10 other witnesses do anything to stop it?

It’s your position that it’s a fake story because the woman is scared and embarrassed to give information about it, when she can’t recall what happened?

“Despite more than a dozen bystanders reporting the rape”.

So you mean to tell me 12 people sat around on the corner just watching this woman get raped and not doing anything? Hello pot, meet kettle.

I just wonder what did people realistically expect was going to start happening when they started going after cops doing their jobs. He was probably scared he would get accused of racism or police brutality or something like that if he had interfered

Her and her husband, I can’t say. Fear?

The other 10? Were they witnesses to the rape, or the aftermath? What you posted makes it seem like the latter.

you claimed it didn’t happen at all at first then backtracked and said it didn’t happen the way she said it happened.

Do I really need to explain to you the difference? What the frick?

I've never reported a crime I was victim to in New Orleans. Every break in or minor theft I just let it go because NOPD didn't care in the best of times. Now it's the wild west. There was a story yesterday about burglary in Lake Vista. I'm shocked there aren't more.

You could break into a dozen houses after the police were called and still escape.

i posted her tweet thread and said that didn't happen. if you want to take it 100% literal i guess you have a point.

do you actually believe this woman saw a woman getting raped at 11 something pm on a busy corner of the french quarter, ran over to a cop who refused to respond, then the rapist was already gone when the police got there a couple minutes later? also roughly a dozen others also saw the rape (they "reported it") but none of them did anything about it? that passes your smell test?

A 911 call log shows the dispatcher didn't enter the call into the system until 11:21 p.m., more than a minute after the call began. It took roughly another minute for police to dispatch a unit.

The first responding officer arrived at 11:24 p.m. and an additional unit arrived a minute later, NOPD spokesperson Gary Scheets said.

If these times are true, that’s pretty damned impressive for a response time no?

Nice one, need to teach that to my daughter. If unconscious and being raped, she needs to state she's being raped. Check.

In a vacuum sure. But a cop was on scene 4-5 minutes prior to the first responding officers and did nothing to help; that’s the problem.
