They've been using "coatings" that including palm oil and shea oil, to create fake "chocolatey" coatings. It's basically just cheap vegetable oil base with artificial chocolate flavoring.
Crazy to go cheap to that extreme considering their stuff isn't cheap at all.

I guess it’s “on me” then, and ill have to take your word for it, since i havent been to a Trader Joe’s in like 5 yrs .. but when i first started shopping there circa 2003 i think, up until about 5 or 10 years ago- their sweet products were about 90% dark chocolate .

It’s only because Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Easter are over. That’s the big chocolate holidays. They have already made shite tons of money by using inferior ingredients.

Far as i know, they are still required to label ‘frozen dairy dessert’ as such.. much like “American cheese” is legally required to be labeled as ‘processed cheese product’ or whatever.. that stuff should just be called ‘nasty-arse plastic tasting fake goo’.. but i digest .
But yeah, i wouldnt be surprised if lobbyists arent already advocating to not have to label fake food at all..that way they can continue to keep us fat, keep us sick and keep us broke- whilst increasing their profit … The shittification of everything continues unabated .

I guess it is something similar to the whole debate on whether Velveeta or Kraft Singles are really cheese or a pasteurized processed cheese product.

There is no debate.. amongst anyone with even half a brain, and with functioning tastebuds- Velveeta and Kraft singles are processed fake food that tastes nasty .

I’m not one of those hippie conspiracy people. But it is absolutely crazy what we as citizens put up with concerning our food supply system in the US. How fricking hard is it for a chocolate company to use fricking actual chocolate in their chocolate products?
