I think he apologized for celebrating to the degree with which he did.

a kilo per month. 2.2 pounds of heroin per month. This sounds like Detroit.

Two of the black suspects-
Possession of Marijuana & Disturbing the Peace. Is either of them a felony?

Poss of pot is a misdemeanor on first offense. Felony thereafter.

The racketeering is something Canizarro brought back in fashion in Orleans a few years ago. The goal is to takedown whole groups at a time when individual prosecutions would be more difficult.

The main reason for the war in Afghanistan IMHO, big Pharma needs their base to make pills.

A lot of it's synthetic now and I believe Australia is the major grower of poppy used for pharmaceutical opiate production IIRC.

Is the Rehage kid related to former LSU player/concert promoter Steve Rehage?

I can't remember his brothers names but he and his brothers were well known in Chalmette as typical a-hole thugs who would fight someone over anything. Chad was a grade or 2 behind me at Chalmette High.

Also, one of the others on this list is a cousin of my wife and no one in her family knew anything about it... Crazy!

What would you do if one of these fine upstanding citizens was your kid? Personally, I would want them to rot in jail for as long as possible. Their lives are already ruined, no company hires former heroin dealers. IMO jail would be the best lesson for them and I would want that lesson to stick.

Had a family member who's a police officer on the NorthShore look up the statute for racketeering. Depending on priors, how hard the DA wants to be, and the judge's mood, they're looking at a minimum of 5 years incarceration.

Mandeville High class of 04 checking in. Man, I just wish this bust would have happened before the ten year reunion instead of after it. That would have made for some interesting conversations with some of these people I haven't seen in awhile.

Class of 05 here, I was thinking the same thing...

I know some people who know these guys and like they like never saw it coming like how can this happen to respectable humans quite frankly it's disturbing and if we all lived like the Amish I don't think stuff like this would happen gosh!

Pretty sure government regulations created this problem.
The government regulations did trigger the heroin surge. But after the pharmaceutical industry (with doctors too cozy with pharmaceutical sales reps) created a huge opiate addiction problem. I'm fine with the regulations, because something needed to change. Pills being everywhere is a huge reason I left Orlando in the early/mid 2000s.

Though I wish the government would treat this as a public health and safety problem, rather than a criminal problem.
