I know you're a toker. Smoke a fat bowl (or take a big ol' dab if that's your dig), and watch Trailer Park Boys. Truly magnificent.

street cars arent always all that loud.
I looked at several apartments next to DART stops in Dallas and most of them you couldn't hear when the train was rolling up.

You don't need A/C in San Francisco. Year round temp is in the 60s.
I took a client out to dinner one March in SF, and I commented on how chilly it had gotten as it approached sundown. His response was, "if you think this is chilly, you should come back in July."

Muni trains arn't loud they make that eletric whooshing sound as they pass and thats about it. That area isn't really all that desirable in sf. to be charging 6500 for an apartment. I used to pass there everyday when I went to work on the train.

The rents are through the roof. I don't see how most people do it.
Don't live in SF. You can find great deals in other cities just outside of it.

Depends on how you define great. Anything with 20-30 miles of any good CA city is pretty damn expensive.
In contrast, I stayed outside Arcata for about $400 a month, which was pretty comparable to the South.

How do the figs in San Fran afford it?

And at 981 square feet, or $7 a square foot, be prepared to shell out $13,000 for the the security deposit.
People in SF would be proud of this. Small apartment, ridiculous rent. It's a badge of honor to live in a small place that costs a fortune.
That's just stupid

Clearly, glassman, you're no fan of Kenny Powers.

My apartment would rent for 2300 now. So rents in east bay are still outrageous. My rental company just hasn't increased rent as much as they could. I live in an awesome area though. And I make great money for my education level....for now the Bay Area still pans out to be a better deal than the south.

I live in a 1bd apartment down in San Jose for 2400/mo. I just checked the website and 2 months later the rent has gone up to 2800/mo. These rent prices are just insane. I used to have a 2bd in Mountain View for 1800/mo 3 years ago.

The bay area is awesome and as you know my favorite slam piece lives there, but there is no way I am moving there, no matter how much money I have.
It is a great city, but shite... those people are brainwashed by that Cali dope.

I'm only ever in your neck of the woods to see my Tide get beat in Sugar Bowls.
Last time I came down, I was scouting for some good farm land (feel like I could have a good relationship with the local restaurants), but I need some elevation.

It's an awesome city and I wish made enough dime to live out there but even I probably never would because of its politics and insane taxation.
Btw, the people that do menial jobs to gov't workers, how do they afford to live there?
