Lakeview was wiped out in 2005 and subsequently rebuilt.

Bucktown on the other hand has what quite a few areas in Metry have, dated housing. .

Just stupid. I can’t see justification for this real estate lunacy

It's all location, location, location.
The homes are horrendous, but well kept.

The guy we ended up using was a friend of friend. He does a lot of work uptown for some time now but in the past few years his quality of work went down the crapper.

I bet I can guess who it was.

Any comments on Lauricella & Sons, L.L.C. (DLS Shoring)?

Virtually nothing but positive reviews online. Which scares me.

Looking for foundation/floor leveling work.

Adjusted for inflation that is $1550. Can still find some decent spots for that price.

Yeah, that wasn't serious. I don't know when he was paying that much.

The point of the joke is that he is more than likely talking about

a.) renting
b.) a one bedroom efficiency
c.) mom and dad were helping out with the rent

It's not a "like for like" as a part of the discussion.

without seeing the inside, there's no way of knowing if this is a good or bad price.

Um, not exactly.

Lakeview was heavily hit by Katrina, but not "wiped out", like say, the Lower 9. While there have been a lot of tear-downs and replacements going up in Lakeview, you can still see quite a few houses from pre-Katrina times, many of which are "dated".

Meanwhile, not sure when the last time you visited the residential areas of Bucktown was, but it's gotten to be a lot like Old Metairie in terms of teardowns. Seems like every time I pass through there, I see another 2 story house under construction replacing a one story ranch or cottage...

Don’t take that so literally ... Whether the house was torn down or not, most houses had substantial infrastructure replacements. Either just interior or house replacement.

I thought you moved?

We need to have a OTGT at Roberts. It’s not really my go to but since there seems to be quite a few of us in the area we might as well take it over for an afternoon
