Why don't we just donate Alaska to Canada. Problem solved.

Snorkel technology allowing diesel-electric boats to recharge submerged has been around since WWII. NK submarines, antiquated though they are, will surely have this capability.

I don't know know what taepodong they'd bring to this fight, but it'd be the last time they used it.

If given the choice, which would you rather be shot in the chest with at 20 yards?

there is no concern about what would happen in a conventional war with NK

the concern is them lobbing a few nukes into SK and Japan, which would kill millions upon millions.

If that's your main metric then

The underground network is pretty well mapped, control of space and fine-tuning sensors enables lots of shite for analyst to look over. Seismic tells us more.

The thing is it doesn't matter how antiquated their gear is. They have a large population hostage. Zeroed in. Seoul and it's lives and the Garrison on DMZ are rubble because it's going to be a wave of metal and death cult. And it doesn't matter that the guns are rusting, enough of them will fire to make it the worst days of modern warfare history.

Tunnels? We fricked the Vietcong and the Japs out of them on the reg. It's the willpower to do it right that is the difference between Japan and Vietnam.

It's going to be a bloody affair that will resemble a mix of the WW3 scenarios and the guerilla campaigns we've prepared for and have had.

And we'll just all have to pray the nuclear beast stays out of it.

The concern is the 100's of thousands of mortar shells that would rain down on Seoul.

We have a countermeasure for it but even if 25% get through, there will be mass casualties.

From 20 yards I'm dying either way. So I don't really have a preference

Right except that we are not comparing the 30.06. We are only comparing the AR and AK.

We could debate this all day and not change either's mind about the subject. I concede the AR is more accurate and really cool how it parts out. I just personally like AK's better than AR's and that was the only basis of my original comment.

We have 20+ F22s in Hawaii ( not to mention whatever we have in AK). Air space secured in half an hour.

The problem with north korea is they have thousands of artillery pieces pointed at Seoul.

We could take out their entire military in a few hours but an hour of NK shelling Seoul and god forbid one of their shitty nukes would bring massive civilian casualties.
