Dark mode seemed okay. But loss of sigs and dots instead of “new” was a little jarring (and the latter seems more of a change for changes sake rather than optimization).

One thing I dislike is the loss of being able to go to a specific page after the OP Subject line on the main page. You know have to either go to the first post or the last post of a thread. After you have read the first page you rarely want to go to the first or last post. Now it would be really useful to be able to go to the last unread post which many forums have. It used to be a minor pain to navigate to the last post I read but now it is a major pain, especially in longer faster moving threads.
I know we don't have DMs, probably by design, but it would be nice to have some indication of when someone replies to you in a thread. As a mod on another forum when this was implemented years ago we saw a modest increase in page views.

Was it this large of a site though? I know it’s doable as Reddit does it but that’s a massive overhead to shoot an email for every reply.

It was done by DM/PM on the other forum. I don't know about TD's DAU number nor the average posts per day but the forum I am referring to had over twice the number of members that TD does.

Dark mode is cool. And overall I like the new version. The only thing I’d change is I like seeing the thread title on each post.

So far there’s a lot to like about the beta.
But the button outlines around “reply” etc look cheap and dated. Like they’re from iOS 5 or something.

I love the dark mode. I am not a fan of the missing page numbers on the main boards. I now have to click on the thread, then navigate to the last page. I'd rather just go right to the last page from the get-go.

I'm absolutely loving this so far, but I clicked over to the sec rant and nearly seared my retinas.

After a day of beta usage, I find myself missing the page numbers on index page to quickly see how active a thread is. Also find myself missing the thread topic in each post as I scroll through replies.
