South Florida all day over Phoenix

Neither are high on my list though

I’d pick DC

Do you have to live in Phoenix proper? Tempe or Scottsdale would both be much better places to live.

when you say "much better" what exactly do you think you mean?

phoenix, tempe, and scottsdale are all right next to each other, and each have lovely expensive areas and each have shitty areas (yes, south scottsdale where it borders tempe is a just a suburban shithole).

obviously, nobody wants to move to maryvale in phoenix but downtown, biltmore, arcadia, north central, paradise valley, and camelback neighborhoods are super nice. the "action" for a young person would be downtown. lots of high-rise condos, bars, restaurants, and lots of asu downtown students.

in tempe, OP will want to be close to campus/mill ave or around tempe town lake. and in scottsdale probably old town. I think north scottsdale is 100 times nicer than any other part of scottsdale, but that is going to be quieter and older crowds.

Of those three? I’d reverse the order you have them in.

DC

Phoenix

So what you’re saying is you’re a city boy? Good luck with that.

I'm guessing this dude is military but is not "cool military" ... Likely has a dorky job like supply chain or personel

Jacksonville, Fl. Condo downtown or at the beach, or live on a boat downtown or at the beach.

Another plus is their NFL team sucks so I’m sure you can pick up tickets for next to nothing.

DC is a distant third.

If I were in your situation and looking for poon: Fort Lauderdale

If I were looking to slow down a bit, Phoenix.

DC wouldn't be a consideration at all. Ever.

Phoenix because it's only 2.5 hours to Arizona Snowbowl.

Home prices in Phoenix are going through the roof.

Regardless of your politics, I think the DC area would be a cool place to live for a few years. I have family out there and it's a cool place to visit at the very least and your a train ride to all the major east coast cities.

Out of these three choices, Ft Lauderdale by a mile.. DC would be second.. im not a fan of the desert feel and landscape, and dry heat- so Phoenix wouldnt be for me personally.. But in addition to Ft Laduerdale, id def look at West Palm as mentioned, as well as maybe places like Jupiter .

Im going to go ahead and guess that you dont realize that you wouldnt have to live in DC proper- though you could.. but most people who work in DC commute a few miles in from some really nice areas of Virginia and Maryland…. Yes, even a lot of single people .

Ew neither of your first two.

DC would be the winner for me. Phoenix would be deadlast given your preferences.

I have in-laws that live in Vero Beach just North of the West Palm/FL/Miami area. I once worked a 2 month temporary job in West Palm in my 20's when I was single. It was great. Every time we visit on the way home part of me thinks, "It wouldn't be that big of a deal to just pick up and move there."

But, steady work, friends and family keep me in the thriving city of Shreveport.
