Doze off or keep looking at your watch and rolling your eyes.

Act as conservative as possible and you will never be selected.

Yeah. The ADA told me it happens all the time. He had come in the room with nothing but a hardbound book, the defender had one folder. Maybe I watch too much TV but it didn’t seem either were there for all day

Be knowledgeable about the subject of the trial/have strong opinions about the subject.
I like doing jury duty, but I get full pay because I work for the government.

attorneys must not have seen that memo a few years back, my mother(no pics,) retired school teacher, current Southern Baptist Sunday school teacher, diehard Republican, etc., got called for a sequestered murder trial for some gang banging wanna be rapper a few years ago, she's the stereotypical conservative

Then either his attorney was fricking retarded or the juror after her was that much worse for them.

don't know, but the venue was in a very staunch bastion of god ole conservative, red-blooded, 'muricana, might not have had a whole lot of options

ETA: wouldn't be a stretch to think the defense was court appointed and knew exactly what they were doing

Nope
A Florida man just went to jail for not showing up for jury duty

I’m guessing he wasn’t offered a plea deal then because they figured it was such a slam dunk.

Yes you can go to jail if you don’t show up for jury duty

Wouldn't work. They'll just make you take it off before the attorneys or judge would ever see it.
The courthouse I served at had a pretty strict dress code. They sent a guy home for showing up in shorts, and told him if he didn't come back they'd put a warrant out for his arrest. I guess for contempt maybe?

Aggressive nose picking is a good start.

Or if you work a job where you depend on commission or tips, you ain't getting paid to sit in a courthouse all day.
I never understand why people want out of jury duty...
