He does, or did recently. Don't see him for this one though.

Looking at it from the standpoint of geography/geometry, would a hurricane moving into a semi-enclosed, concentrated area like this magnify the storm surge
It definitely amplifies surge.

Idk any .. several said that they had friends or family. Someone did say they were in Michael .. but idk if he stayed or not.
I’m addicted to watching this .. pitiful. But my stomach is sick for these people. Especially the ones that posters here know who have just recovered fro previous storms.

Lake Toxaway NC was a private lake and resort in the late 19th and early 20th century. During the 1916 flood, the dam collapsed, devastating the area downstream. In 1960 another entity rebuilt the dam and it's once again an enclave for the wealthy. We'll see if the dam holds any better this time.

Makes me sad. I know that house. It is right on the main road where the main canal goes out to the jetty. My buddy’s house is 1/4 mile away on a side canal off 6th Avenue.

Is insurance available for beach homes in Florida? We were talking about this at work today

To be honest don’t we get lots of lightning during those summer downpours we have? Or is it astronomically more?
A normal afternoon storm, these numbers are 20-50. I've never seen 2000 strikes clumped together like this.

Eyewall looking relatively ragged the last few minutes. Anything helps for wind impacts at this point.
