But my stomach is sick for these people. Especially the ones that posters here know who have just recovered fro previous storms.
Worst I dealt with was Ivan. My family came out alright in the end, but Dad's boat -- which he had pulled out of the water and dry docked ended up in the middle of a Regions bank off Canal in Orange Beach. We boarded everything up with press wood sheets before we left for Birmingham, but it still ripped the damn roof off and dumped water directly in the house for however long it lingered. Next day we were watching the news and they were panning over Canal from a helicopter shot and I remember saying, "Dad, that looks like your boat..."It was.

The dry air dipping into Louisiana is pushing the hell out of this monster.
Sitting outside watching the game with some nice dry wind gust blowing out here. Feels great.

It only sits about 9 feet above grade. A lot of the houses in HB are at that height. During Idalia, many had water just above the bottoms of the houses and made it through. I don’t think it will make it if that surge gets over 15.
My friends house is a few feet more up and I am concerned his won’t make it through this one.

Mike Bettes of TWC is in Cedar Key and the roof of their building is starting to come off. At least a part of it, anyway.
