I yes ma'am and yes sir everyone. It's a good habit I know. Today, when I said yes ma'am to the lady paying for lunch, she said, Oh, I'm a ma'am now?

I looked and smiled and was like "excuse me?" (BECAUSE IT WAS REAL RANDOM) and she turned her back to do busy work.

I just kind of laughed it off, but I guess people are in their feelings everywhere today...even Louisville KY!

We're all pretty much "going through" stuff. Doesn't stop some people from extending common courtesy. But that's the problem these days...everybody puts their own issues and needs above all else. If your day is so bad that you can't reply in kind to a kind gesture....I can't help you. Suck it up, get over yourself, and be kind. Or is it easier to blame everything else on behavior?

Staring at someone for 5-10 seconds, I can see how that would be awkward.

I ate at dreamland BBQ in Tuscaloosa today and there was no awkwardness. A white guy who looked like stone cold Steve Austin was hitting on the young pretty black waitress. They seemed to know each other, embraced each other and held hands as he laid on the charm.

I almost took a pic because it was a nice thing to see today, but I figured that would have been creepy.

I called a black guy a motherfricker in traffic and then he followed me to work to give me a staredown from his car.

So I'd say it's still business as usual.
