Don't care. I'm doing chicken on the barbi. With my special sauce.

Because brisket is popular for the 4th in the lone star state. That restriction is lifted the moment stores close on July 4th.

One brisket will feed a lot of people. Also there are multiple HEBs within 10 minutes of my house. If I need more than one I just make a couple of stops.

I have two Snake River Farms prime briskets ready to go in the smoker in the morning and another in the freezer I’m good for a while.

I sure hope you’re right but in two trips to Walmart this week, the paper products aisle is looking like the hoarding locusts swept through again. I think all the talk of a “second wave” and bringing back lockdowns has the feeble-minded feeling panicky.

HEB has traditionally sold their brisket at it very near cost as a loss leader for all the related stuff that people buy with it. They’ve limited sales in the past so other retailers don’t clean them out and then resell them.

Lol imagine you couldn’t find a job in Louisiana, moved to bumfrick Texas, and can’t even buy meat to feed your 9 kids. Sad.

I go with ribs usually on the 4th. I try to reserve brisket for winter. Used to be a monthly thing back in the day.

Like a period

I never went into an HEB until 2018. The only one I have ever been in is in Bay City. It is an older store, but I absolutely loved shopping there. I probably have been in that store 35-40 times during my two stints at the nearby nuclear plant. Going to a Walmart was an after thought after going to HEB. I read that there did have a store in the Lake Charles area but shut it down. I wish they would buy Rouses. I have about six of them within 15 miles of my house.

I never realized how special HEB was until I tried to buy prime meat in New Orleans this afternoon.

You poor sons of bitches.
