Most sociologists would say it’s a blend of nature and nurture.

Biology vs. environment

The doc is Three Identical strangers. It came to light when one went to a college that one of the others had quit the year before and everyone started coming up to him and telling him they were glad he was back.

I remember reading something about that (spitting up twins), but didn't remember the details.

This is just my theory, but I think it differs from person to person. Some people will be who they are despite their environment, some people become who they are because of their environment,

In some cases, people can overcome both and some can become something different despite having both.

How many people on this board feel as if they are completely different from their siblings despite being raised in the same environment? Some people become who they are because they want out of their environment. In other words, I don't think it is as simple as one or the other.

Anyway, point was a,lot of who we are is the environment we are raised in, but some our instincts are often nature.

I side with the majority being nature. Siblings have the same home environment but have different outcomes, even in twin studies they have found that those separated at birth are the same.

We need to get back to eugenics and stop letting the 40's cast a shadow on the practice. We could all but remove low iq, hereditary diseases, and unfavorable genetic tendencies. Bunch of mindless fear mongers worried about how the process may have not allowed them to come into being but not worried about the trillions spent on assisting those who 'inherit' shite genes.

That's it.
Caught it one day channel surfing. That was crazy.
They all had totally different lives and were different people, yet had a lot of the same mannerisms.

It's not just raised, but what friends you keep. What jobs you take. What you do in class.
You could have multiple siblings and them all have totally different lives.

Who you are depends on your choices and opportunities. Yes, genetics predisposes you to certain things and parents matter a lot, but the things that make you who you become are opportunity and decisions.

You can choose to be someone totally different for the rest of your life.
