The average American man today probably weighs as much as a 1960 man's car.

People were definitely shorter 60 years ago but they were a lot skinnier too. You can even go back and look at a video taken in the 1980s and you'll notice a big difference.

Both women and men have been bulking up over the years, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently revealed. In fact, the average American woman now weighs 166.2 pounds — up 18.5% from the average 140 pounds in 1960, according to CDC data.

I was stopped at a school crosswalk this morning and a girl crossed the street who looked to be maybe 15 and at least 250 lbs.

It's depressing.

The average weight for men rose "dramatically," in the CDC's words, from 166.3 pounds in 1960 to 191 pounds in 2002. Women went from 140.2 pounds in 1960 to 164.3 pounds in 2002.

The study concluded in 2002 so the number has definitely gotten higher by now.

Both men and women in the United States [in 2002] are roughly an inch taller and 25 pounds heavier than they were in 1960, the study concludes.

Ugh...my wife watches that fat womans show and I refuse to with her... she had it on this morning while I was getting ready. I go to shower and can hear the woman crying...come out the shower, still crying... get ready some more still crying. I finally ask, "has she been crying the whole damn episode???" Wife says. "Yes! She's going through a lot and considering weight loss surgery."

So to sum up.... woman gets so fat she starts a show called my big fat fabulous life....then cries at the struggles of being fat......ok
