What he may be referring to is that health insurers can only consider 5 criteria when setting premiums:
1. Age
2. Location
3. Tobacco use
4. Individual/family
5. Plan category

perhaps your employer has stopped supporting you.
That's the most likely answer.

If your employer has gone cheap on you, your rates go up.

I pay 95$ monthly and rate went to $99. It is because my employer doesn't suck

My family rate will be roughly $250 with my employer contributing $2k to an HSA.

LOL. No wonder you're so adamantly supportive of single payer government controlled healthcare.

You're a broke-arse bitch.

If you get cancer or something like that, then all you have to do is get on the exchange and buy insurance at that point because they can't turn you down because of a preexisting condition.

Completely retarded, but what do you expect when you have a retard in the White House who has never had a real job in his entire life.

hardly man, ive been able to invest a decent amount of money through income manipulation and not paying for health insurance.

avoiding the $4000 per year health insurance premium (on something i never will use), has been one of the best financial decisions ive ever made.

All right, then you're a leach. How's that?

Investments, huh. Get ready to get bent over on your "investment income" to pay for your socialist shite.

YOU, sir, are paying for 30 million or so people (so far) to have healthcare that wouldn't have normally had it. Also, you are paying so that we guarantee worse healthcare for all of us normies that PAY for those folks to have it.

WHY they didn't have it prior to Obamacare... why they couldn't afford it..... and why it's "only fair" that YOU pay for it? All a different matter. Btw, poli board.

Ah... Entitlement programs and socialism! The futile belief that there's such thing as fair in the world. 'Murica!

But you can only sign up for your insurance from 11/1-1/31.

That's 9 months of risk.

true, and there has been a risk involved over the years, but generally speaking, ones health is under his or her own control; its not like car or house insurance.

Im pretty young and also very healthy so getting it seemed like a poor decision...and it would have been since i never would have used it.

If I was single, I would be tempted to drop and pay the coming 2.5% of AGI. But I would plan my taxes to owe on April 15 and avoid the refund seizure.

If he just gets it now, he's up 40k and can calm down about a catastrophic event which would wipe clean any cash he has saved up.

Been self employed for 10 years now and always had the same insurance. Just got my second $200 increase since ACA which now puts me over $800 a month. Thanks Obama!
