Insurance sucks but I don't think I could sleep at night without it
My employer pays mine @ 100% and a good portion of my wife and kid's too but we won't be able to keep that up with $40 oil

You're paying for all the people who can't/won't work to pay for it themselves. Free healthcare for them, woohoo!
mines going from 800 to 1300 for the family. Deductible from 6000 to 8000.

If you're lucky, you'll get cancer!
I did, and it's a glorious thing for someone to pay for a drug monthly that costs about $100k a year to keep me alive.
Obama and our med system both are to blame, but in reality we have pretty damn good healthcare. Arguably, too good?
Just kiddin on how glorious it is. I hope you never have to use it.

Wife before ACA was $350 a month with 1K deductible.
After,$632 a month with a $6200 deductible. Haven't got the renewal notice in yet. Oh, no free moneys to help out.

Honest question that I've always wondered: how many broke people in the hood, homeless people, or Mookie out hustling and gangbanging are getting online at healthcare.gov and signing up for health insurance and filling out the proper paperwork?
Right....because only black ppl are poor and need help from the gov. And of course they are too stupid to use the internet.

Anyone who believes that $1million is a small amount of money, never mind the time period, is so far out of touch with the common ppl that I seriously doubt he has the capacity to care about anyone spending a couple hundred bucks a month for health insurance. That's chump change son.

He already had that. What is the extra $200/mo for?
I answered why we have insurance...a pretty common question for many. And the answer is to not owe hundreds of thousands when or if something does go wrong.
The extra $200 a month? how many goods/services do you know of that go down in price?

Well, it is quite obvious he does not care considering he is robbing people (like myself) blind. In his mind, it is perfectly justifiable and logical to take hard earned money from the middle class and redistribute to the leeches (which by the way, come in all shapes, sizes, and colors). Anyone who agrees with and does not see the detriment in operating a country like this, is a frickin moran.

How much do you spend on insurance a month?
Posted on 10/27/15 at 3:34 pm to Paddyshack
Healthcare plans are being bent over the barrel by providers and are almost across the board having a loss year from ACA changes.
Fwiw, bcbsla spends 7% on administrative costs and the rest is claims related.

My rebuttal would be how many goods/services do you know that make sporadic (or yearly ) increases in price around 250%.
How many goods/services do the government mandate you to purchase, including specific add-ons such as maternity ( ) when you are a single male?
Don't worry, I will wait.

when was your last increase in insurance?
you said earlier you were able to buy insurance cheaper privately than through your company...that seems rather odd to me...is your companies health insurance still worse than your new rates?

Never heard of this before...Have you questioned your insurance agent about this? What was the answer?
Posted on 10/27/15 at 3:43 pm to Paddyshack
It's not that complicated. Premiums being taken in have not increased at the same rate that claims paid has. The reason is pretty simple. Insurers now lack the ability to choose members and the criteria with which premiums can be based on has been decreased. This increases the share of negative members and rates must go up.
Provider increases are not more than 7-8% on average. Therefore, the increase in premium has almost zero to do with increased facility costs.

Received a notice last week (referenced in OP).

No I said the policy is shittier. I could switch to theirs (and probably will) for less money, but the coverage is even worse than what I have now. Thankfully, I can weigh the costs/benefits of each, not everyone has this option.

Nor have I. And, no, I haven't. But I think it has something to do with Planned Parenthood if I am not mistaken.
