Hazard pay

Are teachers gonna get hazard pay when schools open back up. You would think they would when they are around hundreds and sometimes thousands of kids a day. My good friend is a teacher who has diabetes and high blood pressure and is not a fatass. Or should these people be put on disability until a vaccine is found. Just wondering

Nothing should change. They made it this far. They will be fine.
ETA: Hazard pay should only be for those that work in hazardous situations.

Virtual classes are the future. Brick and mortar schools And local school boards cost the taxpayer a fortune and are a bureaucratic mess run by people that have never worked outside academia. We have a great opportunity to reset and I hope we do.

Great, now try convincing parents that one of them has to be home 24/7 for this to work. How many families can realistically only afford to have one parent working

No. Nor should they.
Denmark and Taiwan never closed their schools during the pandemic. Denmark has a population of nearly 6 million people and had 1 child die from COVID-19.
Those under the age of 25 are twice as likely to die from the common flu, nor have they found to carry or pass the disease at remotely the same rate as adults. There’s 0 science supporting otherwise. 0

It’s time to stop sacrificing education and discipline because some silly adults failed miserable at their jobs predicting this disease

Why would they get hazard pay? Places are provided for them to wash their hands? Face covering are pretty easy to come by. Why would they get hazard pay?

It’s not oarticarly healthy for children to not interact with other children often for multiple reasons

I dont hate teachers. I think they deserve a huge raise. They havent got but a 1000 dollar raise in the last 12 years. Thats pitiful

The county I live in pays all employees time and a half when there is a declared emergency. This includes salaried and hourly employees. Government workers got paid time and half to work from home. Cost the county about $1.5 million in one month.
