He is highly regarded in his field and widely published. Like most scientist he relies on a very competent assistant to compile his scribble and dictated notes into a product suitable for publication.

ETA. As far as this thread goes, we all say and do stupid shite at some point. When a person shows their ignorance and they don't have a degree it's expected, but if they have a masters from LSU suddenly they become the idiot that must have slipped by. Most of us are not geniuses (98%) but if you get an education and earn a degree it shows that an effort was made. That means something.

Getting a college degree is not very difficult. I'm not talking maintaining a 4.0 average during med school. Obviously your major and type of degree have a lot to do with it. I am convinced that you'd have to be legitimately mentally retarded if you are unable to eventually get some sort of college degree in America.

My 6th grade "Language Arts" teacher had no grasp of the English language. Very nice lady, but her grammar and vocabulary left a lot to be desired.
