Yes. I was helping someone out after a crime was committed. The officers assumed I was the perp and proceeded to arrest me.

I'm a white.

I told them nothing aside from "Go frick Yourself" and "frick off" after it was clear they didn't believe me.

Several people were fired over that.

Got cuffed/slammed up against a cop car walking home drunk from Parlay's to a buddies house in Lakeview in college. Cop claimed after the fact that we fit the description of some robbery suspects in the area. We probably could have made some noise about it but we just wanted to get home and continue partying.

I was a recently divorced, thirtysomething white male, driving a white work truck, and had a realtor show me a house on Pam Kinnimore's street a few days before she was killed by the Baton Rouge Serial Killer DTL....so, yeah, they knocked on my door. I fit the profile they had at the time to a T.

Yes. I was swerving all over the road at 3AM and they profiled me as having "the inability to safely operate heavy equipment"*

*The accusation was something like that, but to be honest I can't remember exactly because I was so drunk.

Without a doubt I have been profiled. I'm white. Never pulled over for a bullshite reason. That's profiling.

It exists. I also think for cops it is a learned behavior. They react and adapt to what they themselves experience. You can call it racist if you want but people.. and cops... learn from encounters.

My only two experiences with MC's were both good. I had my 69 Chrysler convertible breakdown in the middle of nowhere in Harrison County, Texas (Marshall). Two Banditos stopped and figured out what was wrong. I got back on my way. They were super nice.

Right after I graduated undergrad, I was on a date and my car stalled while I was driving. I rolled into the closest parking lot, which was a small biker car. This was before cell phones. They were very nice and helpful.

ETA: I forgot about being a moron in h.s. We went to the FFA state convention in San Antonio. We were told not to wander around downtown (it was rough in places in those days). So, we wandered around in our FFA jackets. We ended up in an alley behind a Mexican biker bar. As we went by, a couple of the guys came up to us. We thought it was going to be death. The guys said "you kids need to get back to your hotel, you don't need to be down here."

I’ve been let off the hook several times because I was just a good ‘ol white kid where as a black kid most likely would’ve been arrested.

In general, bikers tend to be like everyone else. If you’re cool and respectful to them, they’ll be the same to you.

Yep. Drove a beater in college. Over the summer I was working for a Contractor whose yard was on Oak street (Nola). This was well before it was gentrified like it is now. Got off work and was pulled over by an unmarked.

Cop asked me what I was doing around there and I showed him where I worked etc. he apologized and admitted he profiled me as a white college kid in that area. He said 9/10 kids that looked like me were there buying drugs. Laughed that my inspection sticker was 7 years out of date and sent me on my way.

Sorta.

I was staying in a cabin in a shady area and used more electricity when my fuel oil ran out.

it set off a red flag somewhere, and cops came in at 2a for a "911 call" (we didnt have a landline, it was bogus) and rampled through the house looking for a grow operation.

drove a decent truck from Walker to New Orleans for work everyday a while back. Was never pulled over despite always having my cruise control on 78 as i passed the cops sitting at the overpass in I-12 right before the I-55 exit.

Gas was expensive so i ended up buying an old Altima to drive to work. It had dents and scratches and the paint was fading, but it still drove well.

Literally the first day i drive it, pass by the same cops i've seen 100 times before, going 78 with my cruise control, and i get pulled over. Cop was a jerk, but noticed that i was dressed to go to work and not a drug mule and let me go after a few minutes of being an a-hole.

Never been profiled by the police.

One touchy MC encounter. I was heading to a dove hunt and running late. Came up behind two Galloping Goose’s , tapped my horn and passed them not giving them a second thought.

I noticed in my rear view mirror that they were coming up behind me fast. Stopped at a red light where a turn lane was being constructed. They pulled alongside in the blocked off lane. One had detached that whip thing they hang off of their bars and was threatening me as he approached all pissed off. When he got to my window and saw that I had a twelve gauge across the seat pointed at his face he backed up without a word and got on his bike. Two fricking punks is all they were.

Yes. Picking up a black coworker in a “known drug neighborhood”. My whiteness was all the proof they needed to accuse me of buying drugs.

I had a Chevy Lumina as a work car. It was an incredibly reliable car, made it to 419,000 miles on the original drive train.

Yeah. I had a 1990 Toyota Camry with about 3 million Grateful Dead stickers on the back. Was pulled over and searched on a three occasions. Each time was for some stupid reason like not signaling a lane change, or driving 38 in a 35.
I always declined the search and they would make we wait on the drug dog that would “alert” and then they would search. Never found anything and I think the local cops finally gave up.

I was never dumb enough to drive with drugs in the car. My guy always delivered.

Yep, I pulled out of a bar parking lot at 1:00 AM going North. The cop, going South, immediately did a U-Turn in the middle of the street and started tailing me the entire way to my house.

I've been pulled over too many times to count while in one of my hot rods.

But I'm always respectful, yessir, nosir, hands on the steering wheel...and 9/10 they let me go without a ticket. I'm a white.

The Chevy Luminas with the larger 6 cylinder motors were very reliable. I made the public radio "Click and CLack" show because of the miles I had on my Lumina. I tried to find the article, but could not. However, there was a woman on Click and Clack whose Lumina had 426,000 miles. The drivetrain was very reliable. My transmission went out - the motor was still running great.

LEO can pull you over for just about anything. Cross the center line get stopped. Brake light out get stopped. Driving right of center get stopped. Everyone breaks a traffic law almost everyday they drive. I'm not saying its right but it happens.
