I don't know why I even remember that considering that's everyone's go-to when they want to discredit my opinion on here 'yeah I'm sure, piece of trash felon' haha but yeah i just remember thinking 'damn I'm sure one unlucky night and you could have been a felon as well'
legitimately feel bad now.

Went to the grocery and got the regular stuff. I decided to treat myself to a half gallon of Ketel One. When I got home the dog was going crazy as I unloaded the groceries. Well I couldn't find the Ketel One anywhere, not in car. I went back to the grocery and told the manager (had receipt). The manager admitted it has happened before that the bagger doesn't put in the basket. He got me another bottle and I was out of there. Well I ended up finding the lost Ketel One. I went back to the store and told the manager what happened and he looked at me like I was nuts for returning a free $45 bottle of Vodka. I don't mess with Karma especially liquor Karma.

two stories.
A few weeks ago I went to buy prescription glasses and put a pair of raybans in my pocket, I took them back immediately.
Next time, I went to whole foods got like 4 lbs of shrimp and for whatever reason they didn't get scanned. I figured it out when I went to the car but just kept them.

A lot of times if something is really expensive or I'm just broke, I'll steal something by mistake. It's a great way to save money because you don't pay for the item.

i know a guy whose wife accidentally stole a truck back in the late 80s.
same model and color as their truck.
used her key to unlock it and it fired right up. drove it home only for her husband to ask "where the frick is my truck? and who is that piece of shite in the driveway for?"
that's when she realized she took the wrong truck home.

If it's a large business, I would definitely not go back in if I knew nobody saw. A small business, or if I thought the employee would get in trouble or have to pay for the mistake, I would say something.

I have stolen a few things, but it wasn't by mistake. If there was someone I didn't like who tried to frick with me or something, I would look for opportunities to take something from them they needed or was really proud to have.
I use to steal from people who would try to frick with me. Long story short, in HS one year, there was this kid who moved from out of state and started off the school year. We never had interaction with each other until the middle of the year when he was moved out of a class and was put in the English class I was in. He thought it would be "cool" to frick with me, he did it for several days in a row and no one would really laugh at him. Evidently one day someone told him something about it so he would start telling me stuff when no one could hear him. He told me "I better not see you somewhere outside of school by yourself".
I wouldn't say anything, I would just say to myself "you are going to slip up one day bitch". When it came time for us to do a term paper I found an opportunity. I knew his class before that one was right next to it and that he would go put his book sack in there then leave out to go do whatever until right before the bell would ring. Somehow I was able to get out of my class before English class, early. In the back of my mind I didn't think it would happen, but all of a sudden I found myself able to easily take his term paper out of his book sack. I grabbed a notebook I didn't really use anymore. Stuck it in there, went out in the outside area where people hung out at recess, threw it away in one of those big barrel garbage cans and made it back in class seconds before the bell. I couldn't have planned it any better.
When it came time to hand the papers in, he couldn't find his. He was going nuts looking through all his stuff. He asked if he could go look in his other classes. The teacher accused him of just not having it ready and told him to have it by the end of the week and he would be taking 10% off. I think his mom had a meeting with the teacher and it really screwed him.. It was the most memorable thing I have stole and I never once felt bad about it. Although he had no idea, if he would have just not tried to frick with me, he would not have gone through the whole thing of redoing his term paper.

He never told me anything after that. Mainly because it was towards the end of the year and he didn't come back to school there the next year, but I was hoping he would tell me something again so that I could tell him "last time your term paper came up missing. I wonder what will happen next?"

Yeah.
Really? Yep, you can self-checkout beer/wine at the grocery store in GA.
You have to buy spirits from liquor stores though.

Yes, with dog food bag. As Seinfeld says, even stephen. We left a bag of groceries on wheel. I'm sure the next person got it.

Have had a similar thing happen to me twice. First time I returned to store and paid for the product. Second time I just did not have the time...was raining big time as well...did not have an umbrella...so, next time in the store I paid for it. ~~ I sleep very well at night!
