One time i had a case of beer on bottom of shopping cart. Forgot to take it out at register. Got to my car and noticed and said F it, not walking back.

Feel guilty about it to this day.

I stole your moms virginity by mistake.

No offense, just getting this joke out the way before everyone bombards you with it.

I accidentally checked out a ton of fruits and vegetables at the self checkout as "non-organic" because I seriously had no idea I grabbed something in the "organic section"

I realized this the next time I went shopping. Probably made off with stolen goods totaling AT LEAST $7. I couldn't sleep for a month.

Bet they were not chill about it when they initially realized you walked out on the bill.

Plan on doing it all the time when I'm old. If I get caught, gonna blame it on dementia

I seem to remember putting something in my pocket because I couldn't hold everything. I forgot that I'd put it there until I felt it when I got home. I don't know why I can't remember what the item was.

Funny you say that. I was at a vineyard on New Year's Eve with some friends, and I accidentally dine and dashed. People were closing their tabs over the time we were hanging outside. Gorgeous day, and I didn't even really think about it. They didn't have us give cards or anything, so I was completely off the hook. I called back the next day and paid. It took the lady a while to understand what I was saying. I think initially she thought I was calling about a double charge.

This thread reminded me to make sure the charge went through. It finally did. I didn't want to have to call back.

I took a penny out of the penny tray without really needing it. I am racked with guilt and deserve to die.

Almost...

My SO wanted to get my kids an iPad Air 2 over the Black Friday sale. I went to target and forgot my red card. I signed up for the debit red card to get the discount. He only scanned the card to activate it and said I was good to go. Handed me the iPad and wished me a good day. I could have walked out with the iPad. I didbt realize it until I wasn't given my receipt and asked about it.

i got so drunk one night i forgot to close out my tab at a bar in SF. I went back the next day to pick up my card, and the guy handed me two of my credit cards. Apparently i was so drunk i opened up two tabs that evening. I'm not sure how this relates to your thread, but i just remembered this and thought id share.

When self-checkouts started being a thing, I had friends who said that if you discreetly tore the packaging of a case of beer a little bit, and scanned the bar code on one of the individual cans inside, that it would charge you the six-pack price.

So essentially, you'd look legit while checking out, but get a big discount on the beer.

When I was a poor college student, I was tempted to try this, but never did.

I stole somethintg from Walgreens or CVS not too long ago on accident. It was only a few dollars but I was still going to return it.... my issue was I had just walked in both of the stores on Canal street and didn't know which store I actually put the item in my hoodie pocket... so I just kept it and actually 'donated' the couple dollars it would have costed to a bum standing outside of Brother's on Carondolet.... true story

So you know when you are in a long line with one thing, and have the urge to just throw money on the counter and leave, DON't.
