Searched "paradox" and "Louisiana"

Put out by our local branch of the IAF Alinsky group - Together Baton Rouge. Yeah they're a credible source.

Shitty politicians elected by a population that doesn't care about education.
Should be the quickest video ever.

It was posted last week. Basically a propaganda piece by TBR. ITEP only offers a 5-10 year exemption on property taxes. None of these "tax revenue" numbers exist without the expansion. So once idiots like TBR get together and convince localities to deny companies their ITEP applications, that tax money that would have been realized in 5-10 years never exists at all. Plus these companies have to meet a quality jobs requirement before they can receive ITEP.

Really? Because I searched "Why Louisiana Stays Poor" and it was the 3rd one on the list... right after yours. Which means if you had searched before posting this thread it would have been the first result.

Look at the differences between Louisiana and Texas and why Texas is doing so well comparatively.

I was waiting on Helmut to show up and speak, but after 2 minutes I grew weary.

Well I didn't search using whole title, only key words which were mentioned already.

Did someone say New Iberia cut?
That fade and shape up is on point.

How about all the state royalties the Long Family oil business pocketed on State lease sales and bids?
Yet we have a statute of that crook in Baton Rouge, and hoards of Louisiana voting circles still love the family.

TBR in this case has asked a lot of questions that needed some answers.
The biggest question is whether or not like everything else in La. there are under the table deals where some get tax breaks and they are not bringing in the jobs as promised.
I think it has put these tax breaks in the spotlight and hopefully the public interest will be better served.
I just wish some conservative groups would have asked the question.

I watched and while some here seem to kneejerk to a "propaganda" cry, much of it makes total sense. I mean, if the data comparing Exxon Baytown to Exxon BR is accurate, that's pretty much a demerit to your ITEP system. It's why in Texas, our counties are involved with appraisal, exemption and collection.

You also have to realize TX doesn't collect on income tax. LA does among other things. It's a competitive market to get these companies between TX and LA.
