I want to go back and spend at least two days at the WWII museum again. In my opinion it takes a minimum 2 days to truly experience it. But sadly it’s just not worth getting mugged, murdered, and my truck stolen. Thus, until the lawlessness and crime situation is addressed, which under the current leadership is highly unlikely, I won’t be going back. I hate to say that because I’ve loved going New Orleans for years.

This RIGHT here is pure bullshite. Your fear of taking your family to the WWII museum is the direct result of the media and the idiots on social media(including the OT).

Nobody is getting murdered or carjacked going to the WWII museum.

Go to the museum and stop being a little bitch.

Went last year for a Saints game and saw human feces on the street. I think that may have been our last hoorah.

Is there a reason you’d feel the need to declare this?

Virtue Signaling? That doesn't even make sense in the context of this thread. I'm defending the city of New Orleans based on personal experiences. I have no virtues in which to signal.

I left New Orleans recently mostly for a job I wanted And the housing market if fricking insane there and Metairie.

But I will Keep going back. There is a lot of love there.

I do want to rant about the people who go to the French Quarter and are like “it’s starting to look bad”

It was always fricking rough. It always smelled like piss and hot garbage. It’s not the best part of the city and never was.

But then he can’t virtue signal for his team!

Nashville is fun
I've been to Nashville once.

In that time, I saw the following on a Thursday evening around 7pm-8pm:

1. Drunk dude face planting on the sidewalk trying to get to Broadway (with friends trying to pick him up).
2. Older guy pissing on a garage door two blocks over.
3. Younger girl trying to leave her parking spot and literally crashed into two cars and then drives away.

I'm sure Nashville is better than that, and I stayed in a nice place, but that was not a Nashville wins.

My last visit to New Orleans was in the spring last minute for a funeral and the only hotel with a bed was the Red Roof Inn near the airport. Complete animal house.

Meh - I grew up in NOLA and used to work in the FQ - that’s pretty tame

I had a lot of fun in Nashville when we went - I’d like to go back

I'm referencing the OP and those showing up to make sure their virtuous nature of not returning to the city is noted for everyone to see.

Same.

But it felt just like FQ. Sorry, not sure how to express it here. Maybe I had higher expectations. I was told Nashville is great.

Haye New Orleans and everything about it. Haven't been in years and don't have plans to ever go back. I went for a Medical school graduation and left as soon as it was over. Before that could not tell you when I was there.

Minimized visits. The mayor is on the car jackers side. That is really all you need to know.
I could deal with the city during Morial and I didn’t even really mind Nagin, now? Forget it.

There is a lot of high end homes on the market - a lot of die hards giving up. Teedy wants Whitey out of her city. Clear as day. As a Tulane alumn, it saddens me that I can’t even recommend my own children attend. I will forbid it.
