Have you ever "worked the system" to get something?

About 8 years ago, I was getting unemployment
compensation. Finally found a job after a few months. By the time I was hired, I was behind on a few things, so instead of putting an end to calling in to check in to employment upon hire, I proceeded to call in 2 more times even though I was working.
I knew the state would notify me to have me pay it back, so I ended up paying them in installments much later on with zero penalty. It was basically an interest-free loan.

I once ordered 1600 items on amazon over many years and eventually was shipped an item twice by mistake. Amazon never knew it so I sold the extra item and broke even. Talk about working that system!

I don't mind working the system to get a discount or save some money. At Disney World, you have to buy your tickets with the resort to get the meal plan. I booked my room only, then purchased discounted tickets, and added them to my Disney account, then contacted Disney to add the meal plan. Saved me a couple hundred bucks.

I know perfectly healthy people who receive VA disability benefits.

Was in the military for 8 years. Definitely knew the system to pocket money on any travel, temporary duty, or deployments.

I was broke as a joke in high school like every other kid. Told the drive through lady at McD's that she gave me a diet coke on accident (lied) so I got a second coke for my friend in the car. System worked.

That made me dizzy.

in 1999-2000, I worked the online casino system . They offered 10-20% bonuses on your initial deposit. They didn't have clear cut rules on what you had to gamble to cash out.
One had ZERO rules and I deposited and immediately cashed out my $1000 and got a $1200 check.
Did another that said you had to gamble the bonus. So I deposited $1000 and had $1200 credits. I gambled $100 on black and $100 on red. bazinga. Got another $200 free money(well minus daily interest on the CC b/c those deposits were essentially cash advances).
After that a friend tried something like that and his account was terminated and his deposit returned to his credit card.
They don't play that shite no more.
this was 17 yrs ago. I'm old.

I once started a craft beer podcast to get free beer and access to special events at local breweries.

I once posed at a poverty child to go to 49ers family football camp. Was my dad's idea.

I would do that for free regardless.

I wrote a computer program that took the pennies out of the change jars at check-out stands and deposited them into my account.

I once worked a boring office job and I hated it, as did a couple of my coworker friends - but it paid the bill.
I came to find out that they were about to get laid off, and I was completely out of fricks to give, so I colluded with them and we reprogrammed our company software to siphen off fractions of a penny from each transaction, into our own personal account - small enough so no one would notice.
Never got caught either. Our office burned down and destroyed any evidence against us.
