I'm pretty sure he would be pretty damn embarrassed to be called your friend after seeing your post on here.

I’m not the same person in real life as I often am on here.

I'm always amazed at how much information posters are willing to give out about themselves
what happens today is NOTHING compared to the "golden age" of TD (c. 2005-10).

There was a core group of perhaps 30-40 cool kids, students who knew each other at LSU. That's what first intrigued me about TD - I'd never been on a board where so many people knew each other IRL. They held frequent OTGTs, and even had a softball team, with jerseys.

Some may have taken things a bit too far. Picc in particular would post all sorts of pics of herself, even announcing her plans for the evening and where she'd be -- perfect for stalkers.

Paige was pretty much the last poster like that, & she pretty much stopped after a few years. Today's posters are wisely a bit more reserved.

I’ve been accused of being every local radio personality that I’ve ever made a positive post about. Does that count?

Yep, my dad figured out my username. Luckily I only talk shite about my mom on here, so it's cool. (They're happily divorced for over 30 years now.)

Anyone experienced this? I'm sure it's a pretty common thing with the Louisiana crowd here.

I was at TJ Ribs sitting next to Brian Rushing at the bar and he was posting on Tigerdroppings and we hit send I hit refresh...that's how I know her was Tigahrag...I immediately let MikeLBR know.

So when he died I outted him to the OT and they didn't believe me. But since Rags hasn't posted since Brian died...I think they believe me now.

MukeLBR also figured out my ALTER...which I rarely ever use.

I grew up as a Jehovah's Witness, and if any of you know anything about JW's, you know how controlling of a "religion" it is. A guy I grew up with posts here, and is one of the higher ups. He's one of the guys that would be reprimanding and shunning people for doing half the shite he posts about doing.

My parents were military, and there was always a Marine guarding a cipher lock at wherever my dad, in particular, worked. I shredded classified documents as punishment with my mom on base for hours on end. So odd that I work in InfoSec, right?

No good things come from people being able to identify you. You agree to deliver a smoker to someone for $150, and now they can connect you to drunken posts you made five years ago... No thanks.

I once Googled the TD history of a consistently nasty poster to see if I could figure out who he is.

Was easy to correlate other social media to find his name, depressing home address, and dead-end job.

Makes me feel sorry for the guy.

I figured out who a bunch are. They tell you in their posts. I told one that I knew and they lost their ever loving mind, got a little consortium, and screeched a lot.

I will never do that again. My mother posted here, but I never knew her screen name. She has died, so I probably will never know.

I met a dude in a bar in Nola years back that was posting on TD while I was talking to him and we struck up a conversation. Wouldn't have guessed who he was from his handle in a million years

I know one person here, but one person posted the name of a buddy of mine that died once and I've been wondering who the hell that was for like a year now.
