Have you ever had Christmas Carolers to your house?

'Tis the season and I'm seeing Christmas carolers on the TV. Which, of course, makes me wonder who the hell thinks this is fun and, if some of these fricking weirdos showed up at my door, how would I react?
I understand you want to be festive if they show up...stand at the door with the fam, like in the commercials, and take in such a kind gesture. But, really, wtf? You're forced to make eye contact with some weird people at your door serenading you. Acapella.
I wouldn't be able to do it. But I couldn't slam the door in the faces either. I think I'd just run and hide...leave my wife and kids to deal with that shite.

I have but they were not singing any song I knew. It was 3 of them repeating in unison.

So random...we had some come by our house tonight. I made it awkward because I started clapping halfway through, thinking they were done. But I thought it was pretty cool.

Did it all the time when i was a kid. Its usually not strangers, just people in the congregation and friends. I love the concept, just a something to do with friends and family

Never had any, seen any, nor ever known anyone that had carolers at their house. To be honest, I always wondered whether that was one of those things they make up for tv shows and movies and such.
