This is ultimately a sign of a good economy. When the economy gets shitty, food service gets really good. When opportunities abound in a good economy, food service suffers.

Depending on where the place is located, it could be the lack of quality workers. That's a problem for many places.. of course depending on where it's located.

Did this at Hard Rock in New Orleans. Someone I was with insisted on going to Hard Rock, I tried to convince them to go somewhere else. We went inside, was brought to our seats, after a few a server never came and I told him "see, the service sucks and the food is worse" so I finally convinced him to go somewhere else.

The place was extra dysfunctional that day and I wasn't the only one who drove off like that.

I watched five cars drive off at the Wendy's on St. Charles a few months back while I waited for about 20 minutes. I was starving, so I stayed in line. I knew it was bad when the guy in front of me finally got to the speaker and had like a five minute back and forth with the girl working the drivethru. He moved forward for a moment, then put it in reverse and said one last thing just to make sure she wasn't messing up his order.

I got up there and after about three minutes of silence, the most ignorant and rude bitch I've ever heard acted like she was trying to take my order. Let's just say it didn't end well for either of us and I drove off without food after waiting all that time.

I looked on yelp to see if there was any comments about this dumb bitch and I got a good laugh reading some of the reviews which included this one "So rude today 1/14/17 chick at drive thru at 11:14pm was just a mess cursed me out told me get the frick, cause they mic was tripping. When I got to the front no name tag on and repeated to me to get the frick."

Here's my Wendy's story. I ordered a 4 for $4, and when she asked me what I wanted to drink, I said I didn't want a drink. She replied that it comes with a drink, so what did I want? I told her I didn't have room in the car for the drink, so skip it. This went back and forth for a good 3 minutes, until she decided to ring up the 3 items I did want separately, which of course were going to come out to more than $4. I drove off.

tl;dr Wendy's bitch refused to serve me a 4 for $4 sans drink.

Did this at Arby's about 20 years ago.

We go through the drive through with a very simple order. Drive through worker was too concerned about going through her up-sell routine that she messed up my very basic order. Manager came to the window and I let him know what was going on. Drove away with no Arby's and really have not been back in 20 years.

Take my order. Fill my order. It's that simple.

No need for e-surveys if you do this. You fill my order, it's a done deal. No need to explain.

If more people understood this when dealing with the food industry they would get a lot more accomplished when a problem arises

Went to a Burger King Drive Thru in Gonzales. It was around 8 pm. The employee said they were closed because they ran out of beef.

A few times, the one I can remember is at Popeyes. The thing is I actually paid already. When I got to the window, I paid and they asked me to pull up in a parking spot, they just started frying the shrimp, which I ordered. After 10 mins I started to get pissed. It was packed, inside and through the drive way. Then after 20 mins I just said frick it...

This basically happened to me once at Burger King. I was really hungry and didn't feel like going elsewhere so after like 20 minutes I went inside and asked them WTF. Apparently they just simply forgot about my order. They ended up refunding my money and giving the food to me for free.

Yup, stopped one morning at McDonalds for a chicken biscuit and a small orange juice. Price was $5.39, thought that was to damn high so I drove offand went to my regular breakfast spot, 2 eggs over easy, grits and a sausage patty, $2.50

Years ago, stopped at a burger king well known for shitty employees, because I was tired and it was an easy in an out close to home. Big line so I started to drive off before ordering, but sucked it up. Pay window and pickup window. Guy in front of me bailed before paying. I payed for my 2 for $3 whopper jr.s and when I got to the pickup window, the chick handed me 2 super size whopper meals. I gave her a big smile and a thanks.

I've never driven off w/o paying but I have had to go back through the drive thru because could grasp the concept of PLAIN HAMBURGER. Invariably, they put cheese in them.

I've done it a few times. But it wasn't so much me doing something out of spite as much as it was me bailing before I reached the point of no return. I reached that point one time at a Popeyes (go figure).

I was about to just drive off because it was taking forever for the car ahead of me to even be asked what they wanted. I was really craving Popeyes so I said "frick it" and waited my turn. Placed my order and paid for it and asked to pull up (point of no return). Start playing on my phone and realized I had been sitting there for 30 minutes.

I went inside and got nothing but attitude from the girl who took my order to the assistant manager. So I got my money back and called the manager the next day. I asked who the district manager was (his boss) and explained what I was pissed off about. I ended up getting $40 worth of Popeyes vouchers, the staff got fired, and the service there is noticeably better now.
