Yep. Was in a bad wreck back in like 05-06.
a buddy of mine was driving and we were hit kinda like a pit maneuver . Started spinning on the interstate and flipped onto my side.
Several people were in the backseat with me and all fell on top of me as we were sliding down the road. I was watching the sparks out my window ,face was literally inches away from pavement. if it were to break I wouldn’t be talking right now. Still freaks me out every time I think about it.

Nov. 21, 2016. The story has been told many times here already. Long and short of it is while in the hospital I coded. Wasn’t fun.

Westbound on the Jean Lafitte bridge, the cab roof fairing came off an eastbound semi, bounced off the hood of my car, shattered the windshield, and flew over the roof. If it had hit the windshield directly, it would have taken my head off. Knew the bridge was dangerous but never expected that.

In college we went water skiing with a buddy's boat. Afterwards, he dropped the trailer off the end of the boat ramp so the tires were stuck against the ledge.

There was nowhere to grab to lift the trailer but one of the crossmembers. Buddy and I on either side lifted the trailer enough to get the tires dis-lodged, but then the driver pulled forward too fast and the trailer went over my leg and pinned me underwater. I managed gasp a breath as I went under and then was able to free my leg and stand up just as I was about to run out of air.

Always think the plan through - I should have made sure my leg placement was away from the trailer a bit farther. Just didn't think of what could happen in the moment.

At 6 months old I had pneumonia. Doctors told my parents to go home and make funeral arrangements. They came back the next morning and I was rolling around under the oxygen tent.

Fell asleep while driving, woke up when I side swiped another car. That happened over 20 years ago. Could have been more than one of us gone that day. Changed my life forever, and I pray to the Lord that I'm still here.

Choked on a squirrel bone. Luckily I was at a football party with a few first responders there. Started to black out before they finally got it cleared.

Got caught in a rip current when I was younger. Swam for what felt like an hour. Was about to give up when I heard somebody hollering "are you ok?". I looked up and there was a guy standing in waist deep water about 20 ft from me. I had lost all reference to where the shore was and didn't realize I'd left the current and made it to a sandbar.

Straightlined 4 min in ICU with heart attack. Odd things about death..... First you lose your eyesight and hearing. Then you lose the ability to "feel". The thing about that is I couldn't feel if I was still on the bed. And "time"..... I didn't know whether I was still on the bed, in the morgue, or already buried. I was essentially just a dying brain. (your brain is the last thing to go). T- totally helpless, beyond helpless. Then, snap with a flash, I was gone. The good Lord, via my wife's prayers and an electro shock brought me back.

Working in Odessa, TX. Had a bad headache for a few days, but didn't think much of it. Finally, my brother convinced to me go to Redi Med. They did an MRI and reluctantly told me they see something, and I need to go to Hospital. So I went, after dealing with terrible doctors and nurses there, they sent me home with pain meds. Sitting down watching TV at the man camp, I had my first seizure. My buddies called an ambulance, I felt dumb so for them doing it because I didn't think it was a big deal, so I got one of them to drive me to Hospital. Well after about 4-5 more seizures, biting half my tongue off, and not remembering shite for 3 days, they gave me a CT scan, and found a blood clot in my brain and jugular. Cerebral venous thrombosis 28 years old, had 2 strokes that night. Think this is the point anxiety came into my life, frick that day.

Had a routine surgery in Iraq. I had a reaction to the anesthetic while under. i woke up to all the machines beeping and turned to the nurse next to me and asked what was wrong. She said your heart keeps stopping. I said ok and drifted back to sleep I woke up a day later

Was she cute?

If so, maybe the blood flow helped your heart and gave you a reason to live!

Yeah, and I still have nightmares about it over 75 years later. When I was about five years old, I was staying at my uncle's farm near Magnolia, Mississippi for a few weeks one summer. I went with my cousin to split wood for the woodburning stove and fireplace. He carefully sat me a good distance away from his activities, but I was right in the line of the direction he was swinging the axe. He swung the axe, and the head came flying off directly at me. I must have flinched, because the axe head only hit me a glancing blow on the forehead.

My cousin checked me out, and the only injury I sustained was a cut over one eye. He pleaded with me not to tell his mother what happened. We made up a story about me running into a tree. I ended up with two black eyes and a knot on my forehead.

A few years ago, my wife and I were driving on the freeway going 70 mph. A car was going the wrong way and going about as fast. The car jumps in our lane all of a sudden. I blast the horn and swerve to my right (without looking before). Thankfully the car doesn’t swerve into me and I’m equally lucky that there were no cars to my immediate right.

I believe it was a guy who was trying to commit suicide and fortunately they stopped him before he hit anyone. Shook us up for a couple days after that though.
This scenario to me except the guy trying to commit suicide did.

I was driving on an elevated section of interstate highway. He drove the wrong way up an exit ramp, there was me by myself in a econo-shite box in the slow lane and right behind me (but in the fast lane) was a married couple in a pickup.

The suicidal dude crossed over through my path and chose them to hit head-on into instead of me.

All three were much dead when I got to the crash site within a minute after it happened.

That was over 30 years ago. Didn’t tell anyone about it.

I almost drowned in a reservoir as a young child, barely remember it. Thanks Sis!

I've had several instances where I came thru instantaneous situations that would surely have killed me, but good luck and good reflexes pulled me thru - but in those cases there was no time to form any kind of thought process until the danger was past.

I did recently have a 'this is it' moment and it was very sobering. I have suffered from a chronic cough for about 6 years now and nothing seems to completely cure it. About a year ago, I began a coughing fit that I could not control - coughing outward without breathing in. I couldn't even call out for help - nothing but repeated extreme exhalation. I began blacking out and thought 'this is it' as I crumpled to the floor. A ?few? moments later I woke up and all was back to normal except feeling of extreme exhaustion.

I did not like that episode.

When I was a baby, my mom said she put me down for a nap and a little while later she heard a loud scream and when she came in the room I had stopped breathing. Story goes my mom was a nurse and my dad a cop at the time and he grabbed a phone book to call the 911 because he was in such a panic.
