People have to make left turns to get where they're going. The whole purpose of these roads is to facilitate getting people where they need to go. If there's already a left turn lane, the congestion issue is majorly mitigated. Besides, once one gets north of I-10, the congestion on Acadian only really is bad during school zone hours between TJ Ribs and the Catholic Life Center because there's an army of parents coming to the school right there to pick up their kids, and the carpool line backs up into the street for over a block.
