No. No they don’t.
Like everything randazzo puts their name on, they’re dry, stale and overly sweet.

I bought 2 a while back. We ate the first one right away and the filing was fine. The second one we ate a week later and the filling had thinned out a lot, they tasted the same though.

I had a lemon one Friday.

It was better than I remember as a kid.

Wasn't watery, but the filling was softer than I recall, but seemed perfect to me.

Nice try Mr. Andrew Ramsey. Your pies are stale AF on the edges, the sugar is like lab synthetic chemicals, and a watery shite nonsense in the middle. You make Little Debbie look like a French pastry by comparison. Bring back the pies we had as kids or close shop...you're not doing the history of those pies any justice.

I was pickin up lotto tickets the other day and a guy asked for two Hubigs ,the clerk says -yea we have em ,they're behind the counter now because of the fights. With them on the aisles the customers were fighting in the store over the pies

From someone on Facebook discussing the issue.

quote:

Hubig’s is a customer of mine. I inquired about the about the lemon pie issue with the watery batches and Drew shared that outside of getting the correct equipment again after the fire was that after 10 years, changes in FDA regulations has caused changes in the makeup of ingredients, basically the way some of the starches were made are now different and impact the pies differently now. He said he’s aware and working it correct the issue, he feels he’s gotten the balance correct again. He shared that the target date for more flavors is Mardi Gras, the same ingredient issue has arisen in other flavors.

I bought the apple Hubig's for my sister while she was down here visiting. Didn't eat but a bite or two and threw the rest away. Said it wasn't good.

Fat people are very finicky. You wouldn’t think it to look at them but they can be very particular.

Apple I had was fine, lemon was soup in a pocket to the point it was leaking out the pastry before I even took a bite.

had a lemon and an apple about 2 weeks ago.

apple was pretty watery, easily dripped out of the pastry.

lemon was a little better.

crust was still good.

Man, I remember when I was a kid, I'd stop off at the dime store and get a lemon hubig's pie and a big red. Those were the days.

I have had a few.. lemon and apple .. I enjoyed them.. but I eat them from the top down and do not turn them upside down after the first bite ..
Did not appear “watery” to me .

Got a lemon one last week at Rouse's - they didn't have any apple. The lemon filling was thin and it seemed like the crust was thicker than it used to be - just wasn't very good and at $2.49 won't be buying again.

It’s not bullshite. Took 2 bites, threw it away, lemon watery goo everywhere.

And I’m fat.

Do you know the shame of being fat with a big gob of watery lemon goo staining your t shirt? It’s humiliating and made me lose my fatass appetite.

Until I could find another brand of pie. Which just so happened to be my next visit to the grocery store.
