I kind of believe that the powers that be are hoping that war breaks out. Then, they can justify taking away what little rights/freedoms the plebes have.

At first I thought I’d be fine because I’m not near anything the Russians would want to blow up, then I remembered that I lived by an elementary school and a hospital and I got concerned, but then I remembered that they’re not very good at hitting what they aim for, so I felt a little better.

I think too many of these uber powerful evil villains throughout the world who are the real authority behind the curtain have it too damn good to risk allowing such a thing to happen. And that would be on both sides (or “all” sides as it were). They ain’t gonna approve any moves that lead everyone strongly in such a direction.
