Have any of you ever made such a rookie mistake?

Just a quick back story so you guys can understand how green I am. I'm 28, still rent, and got engaged for the first time, to my live-in fiance in August (We are paying for the wedding b/c I fricked up and got with a hot chick whose family doesn't have any money at all. My grandpa allays told me to get with an ugly, rich chick b/c she'll never leave me. But that's neither here nor there).
We are currently planning a wedding AND in the home buying process all at once. Everyone told me that taking on both of those feats at once would be too stressful, and I just blew them off. Well frick me, b/c I find myself completely overwhelmed almost constantly.

Buying a house is easy. Getting married....good luck.

Forget the house. Rent for a while after being married. If you make it through five years, then buy a house together.

You already fricked up by having sex out of wedlock.

I cant wait to hear the story about how you got drunk and told her your TD handle, she read your posts, and are no longer engaged...

It is important in both situations to make sure that they each have a very nice and clean back door.
You're welcome.

0. I was trying to say this is both of our first go at marriage

Take it up to 11 by knocking her up and having someone in the family die suddenly.
You’re already hitting all the high points on the “stressful life events” charts so why not go for the high score?

Elope or have a simple wedding & save an arse ton of money to put toward your house. Big weddings are cool if that’s what people want, but it’s less fun if it’s on your dime.

Skip the house for now. Get the wedding over with first.

Why don't you just drop the home buying process until after your honeymoon? It seems like an easy enough solution to your stress
