Hollowpoint, I’d recommend getting enough information to move to another form of communication where an OT sleuth can take over.

You’re too close to this and your emotions will take over (justifiably so).

That is the plan... I’m trying to get his hangout address, then the OT is free to have a conversation with him.

This. Maybe he lives close enough for you to make a trip to his place to light his car on fire or something.

I have a kid on the way and the internet scares me more than anything else.

Okay OP. You did good knowing something was off.

Now, you need to make sure it goes somewhere.
You need to get any an all info from him where you can.
Where he lives. Names. Nicknames. Work. Etc.

There are posters who can run that against databases and figure out what is real.

Once you have him, there are several options.

The one recommend is getting in good with some bikers or outlaw types who don’t mind getting their hands dirty if you don’t want to take action yourself’.

Then you have them burn down his house or his car if he lives in an apartment.

That or you have him savagely beaten, focusing on his face, hands and genitals.

The more ruined these are the better.

This. I’m still of the impression that OP is talking to a bot.

Arrange meeting, but instead of being taken down by cops, you let him check your knuckles.

Thats what I would do. Tell him to meet me at some place in the sticks and put him within an inch of his life. Preserve his texts and dare him to call the cops.

Is that his FitBit username? I searched it and can’t find it but that may just be the displayed name not username. I’ve never tried to find someone on there before, didn’t know you could actually.

If you google Fitbit chat scam you find several posts of people talking about similar stories. I’m in no way saying you should downplay this, but it’s probably foreign scammers after money more than pedophiles.

As someone with young kids, this terrifies me that something as innocent as a fitness app would have a social media/ open chat feature.

I was playing Words With Friends with some random person and I got a DM on the app from this guy trying to start a conversation. They were harmless questions aimed at getting to know my age, location and general info. It turns out he was a truck driver who was hustling clients for some financial pyramid scheme. I played along for a while but it felt creepy at first.

User Profile & Settings

Use this link to find the user. Go get him.

Get Profile

The Get Profile endpoint returns a user's profile. The authenticated owner receives all values. Access to other user's profile is not available. If you wish to retrieve the profile information of the authenticated owner's friends, use the Get Friends API. Numerical values are returned in the unit system specified in the Accept-Language header.

Ultimately at this point dude has broken no law, in this instance. As creepy as he comes off, that's still the reality. Just preparing y'all for the LEO letdown.

I came here to post this. Yes he might be a creep or child molester but at this point he isn’t. And to the posters saying you need to take over the app and pretend to be your kid and lure him for a meeting or anything, that’s entrapment and will likely be thrown out of court bc of it. Just like several judges threw out Chris Hansen’s cases for the same thing.

My oldest daughter was years ago through Facebook messenger when she was 12. We had just allowed her to make a profile, and of course we had the login information. She alerted us though.

I’m not a believer in shielding them from social media, because I believe it’s my job as a parent to ready them for life, and as much as I hate to admit it, social media is a huge part of that, and learning to use it responsibly is the best way I can ready her. Some may disagree, and I respect that.

As far as the pervert, dude was 19 and was relentless in trying to start a conversation and hook up. I finally got on there, let him know that I was the father, and all of a sudden he was “just joking” and “so sorry”. Dude even kept messaging that he was sorry, that’s when I realized I forgot to block him

This. Reeks of more along the lines of a Tinder bot than a real pedo.
