Well you’ve thought quite a bit about this.

Fitbit... really?

I guess no app is safe. These sick bastards will use any type of app to be predatory toward children.
Yup. You'll likely see someone come here and blast the OP. But would that really be on anyone's radar as being something to be weary of? The dude noticed and took appropriate steps immediately.

This fricker asked my son where he lives... what he’s doing for Thanksgiving... if he was being safe... several questions about his pets... and then, if he had, or could create a Google Hangouts account “so he could get to know him better”.
sounds like he at least has a good father figure somewhere..

You need to post slightly more information to track him down. I have never seen a name return more pedophile pictures than Emmanuel R.

They all look creepy as shite

Burner email. Add him. Gather more info. Release the hounds.

OP could just sit back and get the dude to dig his own grave if he plays his cards right

Would be a fun thread.

A friend's son had something similar happen. Some guy talked his son into giving him $150.00 somehow through an app.. They went ballistic on their son.. I told him it could have been worse and they caught before it got worse.

That probably isn't even his real picture. Emmanuel R is probably some fat old frick

Pretend to be your son and continue with the chat. If it actually goes somewhere, get the police involved. If this is a true pedo, you could be saving some other kid who's parents aren't as vigilant

Regarding nothing illegal yet: The FBI may be able treat the solicitation of a hangouts meeting as a solicitation for pictures and video of your son.

Contact FitBit. Let them know they’re fricking retards for having a social media platform. Why the frick do they need a social platform? Why a chat room?

Narcissistic fricking douchebags needing to share their “ommggggggg I rannn my 5k and my legs hurt soooo bad” memes can go frick themselves. But that rant it for another thread.

OP are you sure that’s even a real person? The reason I ask is texts you posted almost read like a bot and I know they have them on other apps that seem real at first. Are there other texts where your son asked a question other than something general like "hey how are you" and they answered back?

I don’t get what the big deal is, looks like the guy is just trying to get to know a fellow health nut and possibly start a friendship.

This raises a good point.

We shouldn’t let our children play with gnomes, either.

You could always continue the conversation as your son and agree to meet up. Then film him and blast it on social media. I know this is the OT where violence solves everything but public shaming does a good number too.

I’ve attempted to restart the conversation, we will see where it goes. More to come, maybe.
