I was in the market for a late model used truck and really like the 2019sh Sierra. However, I was warned away by multiple folks due to transmission problems.

If they fixed it, what model years have the upgrade?

It’s hilarious that Ram is making a more reliable truck than Ford & GM.

Ram is not more reliable. Gas engines are shite after 100k miles they have problems with the lifters going bad

It’s undoubtedly true.
Just do a little research.

New rebuilds are supposed to have the problem fixed, but that came recently. If you buy, get the extended warranty. Covered a new transmission, radio, magnetic shocks, and ac, for us. Will not buy another GM under any circumstance.

I would go Ram before GM for sure, a Ford with the 5.0 is about neck and neck with the weak link being the 10 speed.

The 5.0 is best gas motor on the market right now.

Wife's 2019 traverse with 90k miles just got a full tranny rebuild. It's a 9 speed. Wont be going with another GM for a while.

Well shite. I bought one of those a few months ago. No issues yet, but of course the problems won't arise until the warranty expires

My 21 with 5.3 (dfm disabled) and 8 speed has been fine, but I only have about 19k miles on it. Not really a massive feat there.

RAM is a nicer, more reliable truck right now. Hands down.

I got mine flushed and had the correct fluid put in it and I haven’t had issues for a long time

Is 11k a lot of fixes for a 7 year old car? Never had a car over 4 so not sure

I've got a 2020 6.2 with a 10 speed and it's been totally fine thus far. The wife had a 2015 Escalade with the 8 speed....nothing but problems.

They’re more worried about all the fancy bells and whistles on the interior than they are about making a quality vehicle.

The 6 speed was shite too. The torque converter is the known weak link. Had to have mine rebuilt at 87,000 miles.

I think the 8 speed is ok if you get the fluid flushed and replaced with a fluid rated for higher temps.

I have to wonder how much of the transmission issue is related to towing?

It felt clunky when I test drove the new Tahoe but a lot of the 10 speeds do to me with the constant shifting in traffic.
