That sounds like sleep apnea, allergies or you're sleeping in a position that's putting pressure on your airway, such as having your chin down against your chest. There are a few things you can try before going to the doc and spending big money on a sleep study....new pillow, excercise, lose weight if needed, Claritin and stay away from electronic devices(TV/phone/computer) for several hours before bed. There are some sleep apps for iPhones that are decent but not very reliable too.

All my life. I finally scheduled the rest of my life around it. I set my own work hours, so it's not much of a problem. On occasions when I have to wake up early, I get by on an hour or two of sleep until I can catch up later.

This is a profoundly smart, effective, and absolutely impossible piece of advice.

This will probably help out a lot if you were consistently working out late.

I started taking a ZMA supplement and it worked immediately. Even when I get a limited amount of sleep it is a much deeper restful sleep.

I have suffered for years with insomnia. I have tried everything from Lunesta, Ambien and all OTC.
Lunesta worked but left a metallic taste in my mouth. Ambien was the tits if you go to bed. I too, have had an Ambien "episode" and immediately put it down cold turkey.

I have found that 5-10mg of melatonin and 1-2 Tylenol Pms taken at 8:00 to 8:30p will have me sleepy enough by 10 or so to get some rest.

Good Luck! Sleep issues SUCK!!! It effects all aspects of your life!

Btw....are you currently taking any meds or supplements?

Turn this on, ten minutes later you are cured:

Even a naked woman taking a bath is boring in this movie.

I have insomnia and sleep apnea. Use that time to exercise your arse off. Having your mind race while doing nothing, is the worst.

I've dealt with insomnia before. The reason a good night's sleep eldudes you is because you are consciously enveloped in thoughts of getting a good night's sleep. It's all psychological. I had to basically give in to my insomnia before I was able to beat it. Think of it like this. Your body is constantly in a state of autopilot, from temperature regulation to how fast your heart beats. Insomniacs try to manually control the function of sleep, which is something our body already naturally does. Submission is the key.
