I want to know how you did $250+ damage to an armored vehicle with a slap.

You know what those frickers charge to prep for painting a scratch and cleaning the gun after... plus a full quart of paint.

Nothing cops love more than to jack up the charges by inflating value/cost. About 15 years ago I had a client who called me to take care of his son's shoplifting charge. He had lifted a cheap pair of headphones. They were designed to look like high-end Grado cans and had a "fake" MSRP of $450 but they sold them for $40. The cops charged him with a felony because it was over $400 (legal in my state but bullshite). The kid got hit with $4500 bail. He got pre-trial diversion but still had to pay $450 in restitution. That shitty set of headphones cost daddy $5450 plus the time value of $4500 sitting for 13 months.

I thought this was going to be about your youtube channel(s) or TD posting history.

Did you see a doctor about your injuries? If so, hopefully you found a civil attorney to send a demand letter on those.

Yeah, I do. And they sell in pints. Which I have paid over $150 for at dealer cost from the parts house.

The point is, I don't think he is telling the whole story. Just slapping a vehicle, let alone an armored car, isn't going to damage it. Or even scratch it.

It wasn't an armored car, it was an old Toyota Tacoma

those security guards beat me up in response and then I had to spend an entire weekend in jail. I didn't think their response was proportional. I was covered in bruises/scrapes all over and was diagnosed with a concussion and sprained wrist. They didn't strike me in the face but gave me blows everywhere else and I had to sit back and take it until the cops arrived.

IOW, fricked around and found out.

That's why you don't go unarmed.

How long ago were you arrested? I'm surprised an arrest with court still pending and no conviction would even show up on a background check conducted by most employers.

Is this poster making up the incident? The job search? The background check? All of the above?

Most likely. He claims to be some badass data science/analytic person.

My point was cops like to overcharge, it is part of the "game" of leverage. The scratch could have been there for a year and while Nugget will likely pay restitution for the scratch it probably won't get fixed.

I have no idea if the story is accurate, just reacting to what he says and how things happen re charging IME. I could probably get an estimate from a body shop to spray and blend an entire panel for a single micro-scratch.

However, it wasn't the 3rd party background check company that contacted me today to get details, it was someone from the company I got hired by.

Are you sure it wasn’t a PI for the company who’s van you went apeshit on? The recorded conversation wouldn’t be admissible but could be helpful for them trying to get a civil lawsuit dismissed later on.

You never quit your other job or start signing leases based on only a verbal offer. Always, always, always wait until you sign the offer. Nothing is official until you sign the offer.

Damage to a vehicle totaling $250 - $1000

Is this when you punched the back of a cop car as it drove past you because you felt you should’ve been able to walk in front of it? Or was that another poster?

My experience has been the offer letter often comes immediately and you start work and the employment is contingent on the searches.

This is very common.

I’ll say my background check is clean and references are sterling and I don’t tell current employer or any other places I’ve applied until I am wrapped on EVERYTHING being approved.
