So you've never watched the Rose Bowl or the 2020 Super Bowl? Every year for the Rose Bowl there is a B-2 flyover and for the 2020 Super Bowl (in Tampa), all three bombers did the flyover. Although completely by coincidence that was SB 55 which is the sum of all the bomber designations (52+2+1).

I’ve seen a SR 71 flying at a very low altitude around Abilene, Texas years ago. Was awesome but kinda scary

Pretty sure he meant in person.

I know the B1 got built, but was it ever used in combat?
It saved a platoon of my soldier's lives in Afghanistan. It was the fastest asset to get to the fire base under attack by several hundred Taliban. Two JDAMs and the attack came to a quick end with about a third of the enemy force taking casualties.

I was at a mil and gov only event at Davis Monthan AFB in the mid 90's. They had Earth, Wind and Fire playing on one of the runways and a bunch of static displays. They had a B-2 out there with ropes around it but set back about 50 yards and Security Police every fifteen feet in full Battle Rattle locked and loaded. One of them told me they were under orders to shoot anyone who breached the rope line.
I just remember wondering why, if the plane was still fairly unknown and classified, would they put it in a static display and then not allow anyone to get close to it? It was very strange. Like some General told them they had to display it when they didn't want to so they did it in the worst way possible.

Yes. At the New Orleans airshow a few years back. Amazing craft. It circled a few miles down range before its pass. You could only see it when it banked.

Airshow in Louisiana. Its really hard to pick up visually when its' coming your way.

They were easing it into public...first time I saw one flying was Air Fete 97 at RAF Mildenhall...
Did a low hover escorted by 2 zooming 15-charlies breaking off formation at about 2k feet up...was cool.
Seen them all the time after that, 7 months in Guam had a couple rotating.

F-22s are very deceptive. They can hide in a bit of cloud cover.

Why wasn’t the final mission conducted with a stealth strike at night?

Years ago when I was attending St. Edward's University in Austin, during my freshman year one night a bunch of us were sitting outside on the 3rd floor stairwell of our dorm sneaking a drink or two when a group of six B1 bombers flew over.
They were coming in low from Dyess AFB and landing at then operating Bergstrom AFB.
Looking up all you could see was their silhouette contrasted with the sky and stars above and hear, of course, the roar of their engines.
One would fly over, then an escort jet, (F15's or F16's maybe?), would fly over, then another B1, then another escort and so on.
It was pretty damn cool, especially with the buzz of the liquor we were drinking hitting at about the same time.

I am 99.99% sure there is a TD poster who flew them. I cannot think of his name though

Also the one you can touch in Dayton does not have the actual coating used for stealth. If you see a real one on display they never let you close enough to touch.
Reminds me of a tour I took with some friends at Mardi Gras many yrs ago on a missle frigate. The guide told us as we were looking at the bow missle launcher "we fire XXXX missile but it is never displayed in the launcher. If you ever see in there it will be gone in about 7 sec..."

I've seen B1's as static displays at airshows numerous times.
I've seen a B2 do a fly by at a airshow once.

Just went down a YouTube rabbit hole watching some plane videos and was wondering who here has ever seen a B2 bomber. I’ve seen just about every US military plane flying except for a B1 and a B2 I guess because there are no military bases near Louisiana where they are stationed. I even saw an F-117 a really long time ago at the beach and that was pretty badass, but seeing a B2 is on my bucket list.
I had a flight out of El Paso in the ninety's. Look out my window and saw a B 1 flying right towards us. Flew right over us. I love flying but that did make me a little nervous. Was pretty cool.

Went to the horse races in Bossier once and saw one fly over.
