When you are issued a temp tag you are also given an id card matched to the temp tag. As long as the person the tag was issued to in the car the temp tag can be used. If a person is caught using a temp tag without the person it was issued to in the vehicle the temp tag will be revoked. That will probably never happen because cops don’t have time to go around checking for this. I wish they did though

Perfect. So they should have no problem producing this id. This is the ammo I needed to come at these lazy fricks

Nope. He may be onto something here. This may very well be a win/win type deal.

Obviously. But if you truly believe all these young people hopping in and out of their cars are on heart transplant lists or taking chemo, then I don’t know what to tell you.

Since I need HC spots, I happen to notice the abuses more than most people.

Maybe if we didn’t have this mentality and held each other accountable we wouldn’t have videos like the young man curb stomping the other young man

This for sure. My good days, I don't use HC spots. My bad days, it's very hard for me to walk far. Most of those days I stay in a dam lounge chair at home.

There are serious handicaps that are not readily apparent by looking at a person. Mind your own business, you self righteous, ignorant frick.

This is not true. For a temp tag there is an expectoration date. For a handicap license plate you are absolutely correct. You have that until you die

I know someone who had knee surgery, she's fine after the surgery but renews the handicap place card. I guess it depends on the doctor.

I couldn't tell you how many otherwise healthy people use handicap parking passes.
It seems to be a cultural thing around here.

I know two military vets who have them. One guy was involved with an ied explosion and another dude was injured on the front line in Afghanistan. I don’t really care what level of injury they have, they’re welcome to park in front of the door at wal mart for all I care. I would never question a handicap person in the first place because no matter what I’m not interested in those spots.

Wait, what kind of paperwork are you asking to see?

My dad was totally blind a year after my birth. We had permanent plates and a temp tag, just in case he received a ride somewhere with someone else. He didn't carry around any paperwork proving his disability, nor was there any paperwork for him to carry.

Abuse happens. It sucks, but it's better than the alternative of zero designated spaces for people with disabilities.

if they can have public companies handout tickets for speeding and redlights, why can’t my company handout tickets for HC parking?

A single trip to Walmark for groceries, a 60/40 split of revenue with local govt....I could be on the golf course by10am with $600 a day in the bank

Saw this at the park the other day. Plenty of other spots. No handicap tags. No disabled kids. Just 2 able bodied white women in white Yukon XLs playing on their phones

I thought it was funny

Nah. Not all handicaps are visible or immediately noticeable and that has too much potential to make me a meme if I'm wrong these days.

I have muscular dystrophy but if I'm doing anything but walking you would have no idea I was handicapped. When I was at LSU some friends and I went to Carrabba's. We get to the restaurant, park, and sit in the car for a couple of minutes, I can't remember why but that's beside the point. Anyway, we finally get out and as I am about to close my door this woman comes from her table and tells us that we can't park in that spot because we weren't handicapped. She apologized profusely after I told her I was and ended up buying us all a beer. Still makes me laugh to this day to think about this random 50ish year old woman storming out a restaurant to tell me I couldn't park in a handicapped spot.

Also had an LSU cop pull up behind me and block me in at one of the handicapped spots in front of the Memorial Tower to ask me why I was parked in that spot and if I was actually handicapped.

The pro move in uptown/irish channel NOLA is to get a handicap tag, and get the city to designate the spot in front of your house as a handicap spot. Boom. Free parking right outside your door.

Do you need paperwork once you have the tag. I mean. There is paperwork for my license. But I don’t carry it.
