I have a trip planned to North Dakota. I really wanted to check out an Indian Reservation but I've been told they are rough as hell and HATE white people more than Obama does. Not all of them obviously, but the gangs do. I was also surprised to hear that there were gangs but they have them and they refer to their hood as "The Res". Thought that was some True TV type shite but apparantly it's real.

Any of you Mates ever been to The Res?

Yep, been on the Crow reservation in Montana. It's a shithole.

Been in several native villages, while not reservations, are not in much better shape.

It's not a tourist attraction. You have no business being there.

When it was open, the Alabama-Coushatta reservation was a pretty cool thing. It was only a short drive north of Houston, but last I heard they don't allow visitors any more.

Pretty much.

I only go to the villages if I have an invite. I've got native friends, and they'll help me get around. Going as a tourist is not a wise thing.

Out west you know you are on a reservation when you see a lot of people walking on the shoulder of the road wearing ragged clothes. Just dirt poor. Shortly after this you will see the casino. I have no idea why anybody would want to check out a reservation (other than maybe Monument Valley).

Been on a few and it's not pretty, we did a number on the natives and they have never recovered. There are some with awesome views out west that most never get to see though.

Me too. They're the whitest Indians I've ever seen (and they took a lot of my money at the blackjack table).

Had one in my law school class. She was whiter than me, but she wore a turquoise necklace.

I know someone who lived on one and yes, they call it The Res and they tend to stick to themselves. Many are distrustful of white people and outsiders. They probably wouldn't care for sightseers. They have no problem taking gubmint money, though. Much like the 9th ward.

My Ak. native friends realize they have it much better than those in the lower 48. The reservation is a horrible place, didn't do them any favors.

I have been told that I'm related to Sitting Bull but I doubt they would take my word for it.

I've driven through them in Oklahoma. They're pretty terrible. I'd stay away if I had the choice.
