First off, we've been talking about Houston (that's in Texas) for the last couple of pages, try to keep up. Secondly, are you just posting while on you're break at the NHC?

The projected rain fall forecasts are not very reliable.

Houston is the most dense population in its path. Prime example of where the scare tactics need the most focus. WAKE UP PEOPLE. its a strong chance this thing barely make a cat 1 if anything. Calm your tits folks. No need to panic yet. Lets see shat this thing is gonna do first.

I RA'd NIH. He needs to gtfo. He obviously was not affected by last year's flood event, so it's easy for him to nitpick what people are saying and other's reactions.

This X1000
There are only three or four people that need to be posting and updating stuff. It has turned into a circle jerk now.

It's not it about the strength of the storm jackass. It's more about it stalling out and dumping a shite ton of rain.

What's the likelihood of this thing moving farther east?

I'll never understand weather thread trolls. Rag was the same way and was equally pathetic.

The two major global weather models - the GFS and the Euro - currently estimate 50.3" and 33.4" of total rainfall for Texas. Discussing what would be catastrophic rainfall totals seems pretty reasonable, no?

Let's get back on track. How often do the EURO and GFS get updated?

The projected rainfall totals do a good job of illustrating the rainfall potential, but it is difficult to peg the specific location for prolific rainfall.

One thing is for certain - they do a much better job predicting the rainfall than NIH or Pj's gut feeling.

12z Hi-Res Euro has 2nd landfall near Cameeon at 968. Overall, rain totals aren't that bad east of the River. Main concern for Louisiana still appears to be the SW portion of the state.

Houston ends up with areas pushing 20" but not seeing 12z GFS type totals.

Euro every 12 hours, GFS every 6.

I made a joke about a hurricane party earlier in this thread.

I'm not laughing anymore.

I had a lot friends and family affected last year. If 12" of rain could fall on Louisiana, I'm afraid of what that would do to already saturated ground.

On the Houston note, I have friends and family there as well. I'm praying for y'all that are in the projected path. I hope it is defintely not as strong as projected.
